Title | : | Revolutionizing Sanitary Habits of the "Common" Indian: Story of the "Poop Guy" |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Prof. Amarnath Mitra |
Abstract: According to WHO, as on year 2014, more than 50% of Indians (i.e. over 600 million people) have no access to toilets[2]. Most of the public toilets and communal restrooms in Indian cities are either dysfunctional or lack proper hygiene. The condition is much worse in the semi-urban areas and in villages, where there is a near complete absence of public toilets. Worst than that, in villages, where 70% of Indian population reside, there is a severe dearth of private toilets in households. Only a handful privileged ones have access to toilets at home. Here, people are left with no choice but to defecate in open.

Abstract: - Data Flow diagram is a graphical aid for defining system inputs, processes and outputs. It represents flow of data through the system. The DFD's are used in modern methods of system analysis. They are simple to the extent that the types of symbol & rules are very few. DFDs serve 2 purposes: 1. Provide a graphic tool which can be used by the analyst to explain his understanding of the system to the user. 2. They can be readily converted into a structured chart which can be used in design.

Authors | : | Ms. Smriti Narayanan || Mr. Shashank Shekhar || Mrs. R. Kalpana Sastry |
Abstract: Most dairy production centers in India are managed through cooperatives or through private bodies or individuals. Adopting a community-based approach, this case specifically articulates successful management of a dairy centre, Shikar Dairy Private LTD ( SDPL) in a remote village of Shahjanpur in Uttar Pradesh in North India. Over a one year period, this village lacking basic infrastructure to support dairy production activities, was supported and several processes catalyzed towards integration leading to smooth establishment of the dairy in the village. The model involves nine diverse strategic partners and change agents from financing the loans for cattle purchase; to working toward community mobilization; for providing technical advice for fodder production and its usage based on modern scientific technologies specially customized for local systems; for capacity building initiatives at the grassroots levels; along with providing continuous handholding support services in an end-to end mode.

Title | : | "The Cost of Financial Inclusion" |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Harsha Vijaykumar Jariwala || Prof. Devang Patel |
Abstract: This case study is on the theme of financial inclusion, women empowerment and financial literacy. The case study is based on a real life experience of an illiterate woman of Gujarat State, living under Below Poverty Line (B.P.L.). The case highlights how initially a woman was persuaded to open a bank accountto make her financially empowered under the scheme of financial inclusion. Later, due to lack of knowledge of basis financial concepts (basic financial literacy), how she has become a victim of financial inclusion, instead of benefitting from it. To summarize, the case drives home the point how making a woman financially literate is perhaps much more important than just persuading her to open a bank account and getting included in the formal financial system of India.

Authors | : | Dr. Ablin Joanes Carneiro-Alphonso |
Abstract: Human resource management (HRM) is a function in organizations designed to maximize employee performance in service of their employer's strategic objectives. Section 2 deals with case study analysis of various successful Indian and international organizations that have taken a unique approach to addressing a particular human resource need or issue. Section 3 of the paper concentrates on the emerging and the growing challenges for HRM. Section 4provides a directional perspective for the promotion of HRM strategies to address problems that entrepreneurs have to tackle in the globalised complex and competitive world.
