Abstract: Some bis(carbodithioato)nitrosyl complexes of cobalt(I) of the general formula [Co(NO)(L)2] (L = 4-MPipzcdt, 4-EtPipzcdt, Morphcdt and Pipdcdt) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, mass, infrared, NMR (1H, 13C and 15N) and solution electronic absorption spectra and room temperature field dependent magnetic susceptibility measurements. The complexes are diamagnetic corresponding to cobalt(I), a d8 system. The ligand 4-MPipzcdtNa.H2O and its cobalt(I) nitrosyl complex have also been screened against some pathogenic bacteria, viz. Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Enterobacter, Psuedomonas aeruginosa, Shigella flexneri, S.Epidermidis and Salmonella typhimurium, for assaying their antimicrobial activity.

Abstract: Diabetes mellitus, one of the top non-communicable diseases globally, particularly among Indian population, has huge impact on the health of the individual, nation, as well as economical percussion. Lifestyle modifications including dietary modifications, improved physical activities remain key components in the therapeutic and preventive means of Type 2 diabetes mellitus. The effectiveness of Exercises using stability ball in the glycaemic control and weight reduction among type 2 diabetes mellitus are dealt with in this study.

Abstract: A study of the distribution of Pb(II) from aqueous media into chloroform solution of N,N'-ethylenebis(4-butanoyl-2,4-dihydro-5-methyl-2-phenyl-3H-pyrazol-3-oneimine) H2BuEtP and its mixture with (4-butanoyl-2,4-dihydro-5-methyl-2-phenyl-3H-pyrazol-3-one) HBuP has been carried out. The pH½ of extraction of Pb(II) was slightly lowered from pH 5.88 ± 0.14 to 5.51 ± 0.13 when a mixture of the ligands was used. The physico-chemical properties were determined and the following values were recorded: partition coefficient (log KD) 1.92 ± 0.25 (H2BuEtP) and 1.82 ± 0.22 (H2BuEtP-HBuP); extraction constant (log Kex) -32.90 ± 0.07 (H2BuEtP) and -9.79 ± 0.10 (H2BuEtP-HBuP). Data analysis indicated that Pb(II) complexes distributed more effectively into chloroform solution of H2BuEtP than into a solution of its mixture with HBuP, attributed to Pb(II) being extracted as the ion-pair tris-complex species Pb(BuEtP)(BuEtP)24-.4H+. Protonated Pb(HBuEtP).BuP species were extracted into organic solution mixture of the ligands. Extraction of Pb(II) from mineral acids, show that apart from sulphuric acid extraction is generally very poor, even when a mixture of H2BuEtP and HBuP was used. However a mixture of the ligands is observed to be more effective in the extraction of Pb(II) from solution of anion than when H2BuEtP is used alone. EDTA solution completely masked.the extraction of Pb(II) into organic solutions. Abstract: Ethyl-α-Isonitrosoacetoacetate has been prepared by reacting Ethyl acetoacetate and sodium nitrite. Co (II), Ni (II) and Cu (II) Complexes have been prepared by reacting metal acetate with this ligand Ethyl-α- Isonitrosoacetoacetate. All these complexes are dark in colour. They have been characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic measurements and spectral studies. The complexes were found to have composition ML2, where L = Ethyl-α-Isonitrosoacetoacetate and M = Cu (II), Ni (II) and Co (II). On the basis of elemental and spectral studies six coordinated octahedral geometry assign for Co (II), Ni (II) and square plane for Cu (II) complexes.

Abstract: UF (urea – formaldehyde) and PVC (polyvinyl chloride) raw materials which are in the powdered form are mixed in a high speed mixer in the compositions 85:15, 75:25 & 65:35 wt%. Ca/Zn stearate (2%) was added as a stabilizer for PVC, which is a heat sensitive material. Torque Rheometer studies were used to know the curing time of UF alone. For UF-PVC Inter Penetrating Networks (IPN's), Cup flow / Disc flow tests are used to know the stability time, and degradation time in compression molding machine. Tensile strength, Cross braking strength, Impact strength, Rock-well hardness, Dielectric strength, Arc resistance & Mold shrinkage as per Indian Standard / ASTM standards were determined. Impact strength was found to be improved for IPN's of UF. The shrinkage was slightly increased and the Hardness was maintained. Cross Breaking strength and dielectric strength were found to be good and slightly decreased.

Abstract: This is a review article with advanced methods of calculations that helps the students to solve problems of chemistry. It cuts down the number of steps in many solutions given in books. Algebraic method furnished in this article for balancing chemical equations, brings down the stress that the students usually experience while solving such problems. Links between Molarity, Molality and Mole fraction are established. This helps the students to understand the concepts of Molarity, Molality and Mole fraction and shows that they are same but understood with respect to different radices. Many steps appear as practical, easily understandable and maintain good relationship between the steps. A new idea is proposed on density at section 4 of this article. This density seems to be more stable than the prevailing concept of density. Most of the problems of chemistry look arithmetical; here it is made to look more algebraic. Problem on percentage composition is solved using determinant method.

Abstract: The iron and power plant industries consume significant amount of water during the power generation and finishing operations. In this operation a used water having high chemical oxygen demand contents and the waste water discharged in rivers or public sewage treatment plant. Their treatment has been a necessary aspect for human prosperity and ecological environment. This paper shows the detailed study of photo catalytic degradation of effluent carried out in the presence of an aqueous solution of TiO2 nano catalyst irradiated with UV light in a batch reactor. It was observe that photo catalytic degradation of effluent obey pseudo first order kinetics according to langum-uir Hinshelwood model. The influences of various factors in rate of reaction are, initial effluent concentration, catalyst concentration and UV light irradiation time on degradation efficiency were scientifically studied. The degradation of eluent was determined by Photo colorimeter and determines the COD degradation through transmittance of effluent.
