Abstract: In semi-arid region like South India, the geotechnical properties of soil is highly influence by the weathering process, type of soil and history of rock. From GIS lithology map as well as GIS soil map of Kadur and Devanahalli it is observed that rock varies from granite to laterate and basalt and soil varies from sand clay to sandy clayey loam. GIS litholigy map shows that Kadur soil having traces of acid volcanic with iron ore. Hence that soil is selected for research and also from the GIS soil textural map, it is observed that void ratio of Devanahalli region soil is more and are also know that surrounding Devanahalli, especially Vijayapur, large number of silk dyeing industries in operation. But unethical way of discharge is in practice in that region. To know the ill/beneficial effect of effluent on soil, the effluent is collected and optimal combination soil with acidic effluent is inundated to simulate the field contaminate condition in the laboratory. The laboratory tests were conducted for liquid limit, compaction and Unconfined Compressive Strength as per IS: 2720 guidelines. Test results shows that, soil with 60% acidic effluent is beneficial even though it is present in soil or rock. Keywords– Maximum Dry Density, Comparative Varying Number, Maps.

Abstract: An integrationof the resultsofwell-logging and coreanalysis, seismic interpretation, and petrographic investigation including ( thin sections and XRD investigation)was used to evaluatereservoir quality of upper unit of Abu Roash"G"Member sandstone in Azhar oil field, Beni Suef basin. Seismic data including constructing depth structure contour map indicated different kind of faults around three-way dipping anticline closure that representing the structure hydrocarbon trap.It was found that wells which are located in structural high have better reservoir quality than theseare located in structural low. Six sedimentary cycles have been recognized within upper unit of Abu Roash"G" Member, however, the top zone of this unit is the main cycle which consists of sandstone reservoir represented by tidal channel and tidal flat lithofacies.............

Abstract: The objective of the research was to carry out the hydrogeological characterization of the regional groundwater system in a basin of the western slope of the Pampean Mountains (Córdoba Province, Argentina) and to integrate the information into a Geographic Information System (GIS).Satellite images, Digital Elevation Model, topographic maps and climate data were used. The water table depth was measured in 30 wells and 30 groundwater samples from the unconfined aquifer were obtained and analyzed. The data was stored in a GIS. According to the geological and geomorphological characteristics, two aquifer environments were distinguished, which have different K, sediment thickness and extraction flows (Q). 1) Villa Dolores Aquifers Systems (thickness aprox. 30 m and Q=.............

Abstract: The petrographic studies of the sands and sandstones of Injana Formation (LateMiocene) in the studied area indicate that they are immature, poorly sorted, mostly clayey and classified as Litharenite. They are composed essentially of sedimentary rock fragments followed by quartz , metamorphic rock frogments and feldspar. The predominant type of sedimentary fragments is carbonate. The study of heavy minerals indicates that epidote group is forming the main heavy minerals, followed by amphibole, pyroxene and garnet. The source area based on petrographical and heavy minerals studies is interpreted to be composed essentially of sedimentary followed by igneous and metamorphic rocks............

Abstract: Carbonate reservoirsbeing the main carriers of oil with a great deal of natural gas found in the past five years.Carbonate Reservoirs contribute to more than half of the World's Conventional Petroleum Reserves. The characteristics of carbonates make the Hydrocarbon exploration and production a complex.Rock Heterogeneityvaries at all scales and properties (porosity, permeability and flow mechanisms). The application of innovative techniques for the new plays in carbonate rocks epitomizes frontier exploration. The permeability is controlled by fractures and faults in most of the low-matrix-porosity hydrocarbon reservoirs that are productive. Geological risk can be reduced by understanding the reservoir basic fractures and faults which in turn reduces the well costs and increasing............
