Title | : | A Study On The Remediation Of Disorders In The Speaking Ability Of The Slow Learners In VI Standard Taught Under Activity Centred Teaching Of English |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Rajendran Muthiah |
Abstract: A child's persistent, specific language difficulty is a language disorder. Disorders in speech occur at phonological, morphological, syntactical, semantic and pragmatic levels. In a rural high school class, nearly 20% to 30% are slow learners, learning at the rate and depth of below average peers. Their communicative disorders not remediated at primary level, continue to haunt them till they live. A standardised verbal Intelligence test tool was used to identify the slow learners whose I.Q range lies between 70 and 90. A diagnostic tool was used in this experimental study to collect their mistakes in the pre-test. Activity Centred Approach to teaching of English was used to teach 24 slow learners in VI Standard for a month. All the teaching points in the Diagnostic test tool were covered in teaching. Peer group and Chorus group activities in every period produced good results.

Title | : | An In-Depth Study Of Totally Visual Impaired Students At Secondary And Degree Level Of The Kalabharathi Blind School And Andhra Christian College, Guntur District In Andhra Pradesh. |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Jalli. Pothuraju || Dr. G. Yashoda |
Abstract:India is now home to the world's largest number of blind people of the 37 million people across the globe who are blind, over 15 million are from India. What's worse, 75% of these are cases of available blindness, thanks to the country's acute shortage of optometrists and donated eyes for the treatment of corneal blindness. While India needs 40,000 optometrists, it has only 8000. Children with visual impairment might feel isolated from other kid's because they cannot gain, in all the same activities. Because socialization with peers is an important part of a child's education, the teacher should encourage activities in which they are able to participate. Students with low vision that rely on an adult for assistance might be avoided by other students. Pairing those up with peers who can assist them will give them an opportunity to socialize. Human nature is multifaceted and flexible, the same potential may have different result depending whether the environment encourages or discourages. This study aimed to create a profile of difficulties of totally visual impaired students from childhood with a vision to inform future services and to raise awareness of the need for comprehensive assessment including developmental remediation and educational advice.

Title | : | Efficiency of Dual Processing Taxonomies in Moroccan EFL Learners' Speaking |
Country | : | Morocco |
Authors | : | Sana Sakale |
Abstract: This article claims that one efficient way to avoid learners' hesitation and push them towards more speech delivery in EFL Moroccan settings is the applicability of compromise or dual processing taxonomies (DPT) aiming to establish link between utterances form and meaning during oral production, rather than on focusing on either meaning or form as two separate entities. To this end, an overview to the meaning/form dichotomy as it has traced route in the history of language teaching/learning will briefly be presented. A correlating recognizable lack of form-negotiation will be recapitulated and compared to a resulting error anxiety which both will be empirically evidenced. The case will also be to extrapolate FonF (Focus on Form) approach to L2 learning which -basing on current findings- proves very important but lacking during speaking situations in Moroccan secondary classes. Two hundred students and forty teachers have contributed to current research. Design is both qualitative and descriptive. Instruments used vary from open interviews to closed end questionnaires to classroom observation grids.

Title | : | Validity ofClinical Assessment In Comparison To Magnetic Resonance Imaging inDiagnosis ofMedial Meniscal Tear inaSample Of Iraqi Patients: A Single Center Study |
Country | : | Iraq |
Authors | : | Faiq I. Gorial || Mahmoud Khudhair Yaseen |
Abstract: Background: Medial meniscus injury is common in young males with knee trauma so early clinical diagnosis is important.The aim of this study was to evaluate the validity of clinical assessment in comparison to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in diagnosis of medial meniscal tear in a sample of Iraqi patients. Methods:A total of 50 patient with knee pain involved in this cross sectional study. Full history was taken and complete clinical examination was done. Clinical assessment for medial meniscal tear included history of trauma, medial knee joint pain and tenderness, McMerry test, and Apply test. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the affected knee joint was done for all patients and read by a blinded single radiologist. Results: of 50 patients studied: 36 (72%) were males. Mean age of the patients was35.44 ± 12.09 years. Clinical meniscal tear was positive in 41 (82%) patient while MRI meniscal tear positive was present in 44 (88%). Both clinically positive meniscal tear and MRI positive tear were present in 37 patients. Clinical assessment had a sensitivity of (84.09 %), diagnostic accuracy (78 %), positive predictive value (90.24 %), specificity (33.33 %), and negative predictive value (22.22%).

Title | : | Multilevel Analysis on Determinants of Academic Achievement of Second Year Regular Students: The Case of Addis Ababa University School of Commerce |
Country | : | Ethiopia |
Authors | : | Dejen Tesfaw || Muluken Derebew |
Abstract: The aim of this study is to identify factors affecting academic achievement of second year regular students of Addis Ababa University, School of Commerce. Data were obtained from primary and secondary sources. A cross-sectional survey was conducted on a total of 79 students from six different departments using multistage stratified sampling techniques. A designed questionnaire was used to obtain data on background information, student level, department level and school level. The secondary data were obtained from the registrar office of School of Commerce, Addis Ababa University. Multiple linear regression and multilevel linear regression were used to analyze the data. From the study, it was found out that multilevel regression model is much better than the classical regression model in fitting the data and in explaining the variations of the academic achievement at different levels. The results of this study showed that the mean academic achievements of commerce second year regular students were 2.54 with standard deviation of 0.432. The result revealed that the factors: study hours, mothers' educational level, teachers' commitment, standard of lectures and presentations, assessment and marking criteria, and course interest have positive effects on the achievement of students. On the otherhand, department preference and absent from school have negative effects on academic achievement of students. There was a high degree of variation of academic achievement of students among departments while there was similarity within departments.

Title | : | Factors Influencing Evolution of Old fellow Authority to to Child of in Family Minahasa Sub Etnis Tolour |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Pangemanan Handrie Dunand |
Abstract: Study to this research aim to know evolution of old fellow authority to child of in family Minahasa Sub Etnis Toulour influenced by old fellow age factor and level of chlid independence. Data collecting is done by using questionnaire by 100 responders with caracter is having the character of homogen because reasoning of culture that is same relative. To analyse the data is applied correlation data analysis technique of product moment.
Result from this research indicates that factor that is old fellow age(X1) influential to evolution of old fellow authority, where calculate r bigger than table r at level siqnifikansi 1% with N = 100 is 0.734 bigger than table r 0.256. And so do result obtained from factor child independence that is 0994 at level siqnifikansi 1% with N = 100 is bigger than table r that is 0.994> 0.256. From both the variables that is old fellow age (X1) and variable child independence(X2), hence stronger of the rapport with evolution of old fellow authority is independence variable of child of that is equal (0.994) compared to old fellow age variable (0.734).
