Abstract: India is a country developing fast industrially and agriculturally. A consequence of the former is urbanization and of the latter, denudation of the forest cover. Both have a telling effect on the quality of the environment. The sea, which represents a regime of the lowest potential energy, receives all types of influxes carrying industrial, agricultural and urban wastes; hence its water quality is affected and thereby its living organisms. Unlike in the case of seas, e.g., the Mediterranean bordering highly industrialized countries, Indian seas are not as much polluted by these effluents, except at certain point locations (a recent review on present status of marine pollution (Qasim&Sen Gupta,1980;) . This is a good starting point for evolving (and implementing) methods of pollution abatement followed.............

Abstract: A copolyester was synthesized using 2,5-hexanediol as one of the diols with isophthaloyl chloride as an another monomer. In addition, 1,4-dihydroxy naphthalene, have also been used as another comonomer for the synthesis of random copolymer. Formation of copolyester have been confirmed using various spectral techniques viz., Ultraviolet (UV), Fourier Transform Spectroscopy Infrared (FTIR), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectral techniques. Thermal studies were also carried out using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA). Elemental analysis further supports the formations for the copolymer. Abstract: N-methyl carbazole was Prepared by treating Carbazole with iodomethane in presence of sodium hydride in the solvent medium of DMF. 3-formyl-N-methyl Carbazole was synthesized by the reaction of N-methyl Carbazole with POCl3 and DMF. Abstract: The study examined the fruits and leaves extract for the proximate, phytochemicals and nutrients composition of Aegle marmelos (Bael) using Standard methods. Proximate analysis revealed that moisture content, ash, protein, crude fiber, carbohydrate, pH and acid value occurred in appreciable amounts in both the fruits and leaves samples. The moisture content of the fruits was 51.7±0.8% and leave was 16.6±0.7%. The ash content of the fruit was 23.3±0.3% and leave was 17.8±1.1%. The protein content in fruit was 10.4±0.1% and leave was 13.40±0.02%. The fiber content was 30.7±0.7% and 12.9±0.4% in the leaves and fruits respectively. Carbohydrate content for leaves was 21.3±2.0% and in fruit was 1.82±0.85%. The pH value in the fruits and leaves was 2.50±0.06 and 1.93±0.53 respectively.............

Abstract: The proximate and mineral compositions of the brown and yellow variety of tiger nut (Cyperus esculentus) flour were determined using standard analytical technique. The proximate composition of the yellow variety was crude protein (7.70%), crude fat (21.9%), crude fiber (26.0%), ash (1.69%), carbohydrate (33.5%), moisture (11.2%), and pH (7.10). Corresponding values of the brown variety was crude protein (7.50%), crude fat (23.1%), crude fiber (23.3%), ash (1.71%), carbohydrate (34.3%), moisture (10.02%), pH (7.00). Abstract: Unmodified and Citric acid adsorbents were prepared from Moringa oleifera seed pod,characterized and evaluated for aqueous phase removal of chromium and cadmium ions. The effects of operational parameters such as initial chromium and cadmium solution pH and adsorbent dosage on equilibrium sorption were studied. Adsorption isotherms(effects of metal ion and kinetic experiments), was performed at (25 oC) furnished some equilibrium and kinetic parameters, respectively. Percentage removal RE% for chromium UMMP(85.09) and MMP (92.45) and cadmium UMMP (68.22) and MMP(76.480).Comparatively it seems that the capabilities of the adsorbents to remove chromium and Cadmium ions varied as UMMP<MMP, Portraying MMP as the more potent of the experimental adsorbents. Abstract: The physicochemical properties of tubewell groundwater from various stations in Osmanabad City of Maharashtra State were analyzed. The samples taken in summer season (months of April-May) from twelve different stations and were analysed for major physico-chemical parameters such as temperature, pH, electric conductivity(EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), total alkalinity (TA), total hardness (TH), Ca2+, Mg2+, Cl- by using standard analytical methods. The analysis showed that drinking water quality in the study area is rationally good and doesn't show any alarming level of pollutants. Nevertheless it needs some extent of treatment before consumption as the concentration of the parameters such as Total alkalinity, Total solid, Total hardness, Dissolved oxygen, Magnesium hardness, Calcium hardness and Chemical oxygen demand go beyond the permissible limits for drinking water.

Abstract: Air separation units are known as one of the most important units in many industries. The purpose of these units is to supply purified Nitrogen and Oxygen to the various parts of the industries for the relevant processes. Hence, obtaining the desired purity of Nitrogen and Oxygen is the key factor of these units' performance. Due to some restrictions of existing technologies, the operating cost and energy consumption of these units are considerably high. In this paper, a comprehensive simulation of the entire industrial cryogenic separation of Nitrogen from the Air will initially be carried out. After that some of the factors affecting the separation in the cryogenic distillation tower such as temperature and pressure of the inlet stream, number of trays and the reflux flowrate will be introduced.............
