Abstract: Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are part of persistent organic pollutants which are very harmful for environment and human beings. The international community envisaged the complete elimination of PCBs for 2028. However, the techniques available of destruction are very expensive because of consuming energy, with environmental and health risks. To offset these difficulties, we investigate a simple and effective method for elimination of PCBs in liquid phase. This technique is based on catalyzed photodégradation.
