Abstract: The novel monomer 3,6- Di-iso cyanato N-neopentyl carbazole has been synthesized and the monomer has been characterized by IR, UV and NMR spectra. Two polyurethanes by the reaction of 3, 6- Di-iso cyanato N-neopentyl carbazole with resorcinol and bisphenol-A have been synthesized and the corresponding polymers have been characterized by IR, UV and NMR spectra.

Abstract: Inhibition of corrosion of mild steel in HCl solution by Spathodea Campanulata (SC) leaf extract has been studied by gravimetric, polarization, electrochemical impedance measurements and temperature studies. Inhibition efficiency was found to increase with increasing concentration of the extract. The effect of temperature (35-75oC) and immersion time on the corrosion behavior of mild steel in 1 N hydrochloric acid on addition of extract was also studied.

Abstract: A semi empirical study of the reaction of formaldehyde and glycine was conducted by using AM1and PM3 methods and the possible mechanism of the reaction was investigated. It was found that the glycine nitrogen attacks the carbonyl carbon of formaldehyde and forms a methylol intermediate that undergoes a condensation with another glycine to produce a methylenediglycine through a methylene bridge (cross-linking). The activation enthalpies of the reaction were also predicted. The reaction was found to be exothermic and second order.

Abstract: A total of 26 elements (major, minor, trace and ultra-trace) were detected and determined in Cochlospernum tictorium A. Rich. using INAA. Ca, Sr, Ba, Rb and Fe are found at higher concentrations in the range of 33.40 – 796ppm followed by Ce, La, Nd, Br and Zn in the range of (6.78 – 24.20ppm) while Au, Lu, Sc, Co, Cr, Cs, Sm, Eu Tb, Hf, Th, As, Ta, W, Hg and U are in traces and at ultra-trace levels. Nutritional, medicinal and toxicological implications were discussed.

Abstract: Nano sized particles of manganese doped cobalt nano ferrites having general formula MnxCO1-X Fe2O4 (where x=0.0,0.2,0.4,0.6,0.8,1.0) were prepared by the citrate gel method at low temperature (1800C). The synthesized powders were sintered at 500oC for 4 hours. The crystal structure characterization of the sintered powders were carried out by using X-ray diffraction(XRD) .The X-Ray diffraction analysis confirmed the formation of single phase cubic spinel structure. The average particle size of the synthesized powders was 11 to 33nm. The surface morphology were studied by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) which revealed the formation of largely agglomerated nano particles. Lattice parameter, X-ray density, experimental density, porosity of the samples were calculated. The observed results can be discussed in this paper on the basis of composition.

Abstract: A series of Oxazol-5(4H)-ones are prepared by cyclization, condensation of O-HydroxyHippuric acid with various aromatic aldehydes in presence of acetic anhydride and sodium acetate in catalytic amounts. All the synthesized compounds were confirmed and characterized by using various spectral technique like IR,1HNMR, Mass spectral studies and C,H,N Analysis. Molecular Docking studies were carried out on these synthesized compounds and they showed better docking score. Docking studies of (4Z)-4-(arylidene)-2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)oxazol-5(4H)-ones with DNA (PDB ID:1N37)using patch dock server were performed. The aim of molecular docking is to achieve an optimized conformation for both the protein and ligand and relative orientation between protein and ligand such that the free energy of the overall system is minimised. The present focus of molecular docking is to computationally simulate the molecular recognition process.

Abstract: A study was conducted to know the nutritive value of Edible part of Periwinkle(Turritelacommunis). The proximate composition of periwinkle in both raw and boiled samples wasinvestigated. The proximate analysis was evaluated using standard analytical procedures. The proximate analysis revealed in raw sample that the moisture content is 15.5, ash content is 16.0%, crude fat is 18.8%, crude Fibre is 0, crude protein is 36.94% , and carbohydrate is 12.76% ; and in boiled sample moisture content is 12.0%, ash content is 12.0%, crude fat 4.74%, crude fibre is 3.0%, crude protein is 63.88% and carbohydrate is 4.38%. The minerals present in the raw sample are manganese, magnesium, calcium, lead, iron and zinc.

Abstract: On the basis of the survey and recent news, districts in western Uttar Pradesh that reeling under the threat of heavy metals endemic threat are: Meerut, Rae Bareli, Gonda, Bijnore, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Ballia, Shahjahanpur and Mirzapur. They all have heavy metals content above the limited range of parts per billion (ppb) in the groundwater in some areas. Heavy metals content above the considerable limit in water is considered toxic and can cause lung and skin cancer and other types of diseases. It is also harmful in agricultural field. Ground water from around the Meerut city part of western Uttar Pradesh, contaminated with poisonous heavy metals. This study has been carried out to determine the variability of the level of heavy metal contamination in the groundwater western Meerut district. Inductive coupled plasma mass spectroscopy was used for the analysis of heavy metals.

Abstract: Synthesis of NH2/MCM-41 catalysts using silica from Sidoarjo mud and their characterization for palm oil transesterification have been carried out. The silica was separated from the mud by reflux method. The product was then analyzed by X-ray Flouresence (XRF) and used as silica source in the MCM-41 synthesis. The MCM-41 was synthesized by hydrothermal method at 100 °C for 24 h and calcined at 540 °C for 5 h. The MCM-41 was then modified using 3-Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (3-APTMS) by grafting method under N/Si mol percent ratio of 1, 3, 5 and 10 to produce NH2/MCM-41 catalysts.

Abstract: Extraction of gelatin from cow bone was carried out using the combination of alkali and acid pretreatment by a sequential extraction process. Characterization gelatin was analysis using infrared spectroscopy (IR), SEM-EDAX, DTA-DSC, and electrophoresis. The best character of gelatin was use for synthesis of porous carbon. Gelatin was extracted in different time, acid concentration and extraction temperature. The IR spectra indicated that gelatin I extracted at shorter time, lower acid concentration and temperature showed amide I and small intensity of amide III bands.

Abstract: The FTIR and FT Raman spectra of 2-Amino-4,5-dimethyl-3-furancarbonitrile (ADMFC) have been recorded in the region 4000-400 cm-1 and 4000-100 cm-1 respectively. The optimized geometry, frequency and intensity of vibrational bands of 2-Amino-4,5-dimethyl-3-furancarbonitrile (ADMFC) were obtained by Density Functional Theory (DFT) using 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The harmonic vibrational frequencies were calculated and scaled values have been compared with experimental FTIR and FT-Raman spectra. The observed and calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement..

Abstract: Recently research works have been done on the use of antibacterial drugs as a corrosion inhibitor for metal alloy. Amoxicillin which is an antibacterial drug has been proved as a good metal alloy corrosion inhibitor in acidic media. This paper presents an experimental study on the amoxicillin as inhibitor has been investigated by weight loss, Potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy , all these techniques reveal that inhibition efficiency increases with an increase in the concentration of inhibitor in acidic medium (HCI, H2SO4, HNO3).

Abstract: A simple RP-HPLC method developed for simultaneous estimation of Olmesartan medoxomil and Hydrochlorothiazide in combined pharmaceutical dosage forms. This method validated as per ICH guidelines. This method was simple, specific, precise, linear, accurate, robust and ruggedness for simultaneous analysis of both Olmesartan medoxomil and Hydrochlorothiazide.

Abstract: The result of the physicochemical analysis of carrot juice was analyzed and this result showed that the moisture content is 91.000 ± 0.265 which indicates that carrot contained much water which will help in healthy hydration of the body system, in transport of nutrient, elimination of waste and body temperature regulation .protein content is % 1.067 ± 0.058 which will serve as a collagen for supportive tissue, heamoglobin for transport, antibodies for immune defense and enzymes for metabolism in the body and can serve as balanced diet in humans. ether extract ( crude fat) % 0.367 ± 0.089 this shows that carrot is not rich in oil i.e. does not contain much oil, ash % 1.333 ± 0.153 this means that carrot contains essential nutrient elements, as this will normally show up in the ash content of a vegetable matter and can be used to argument minerals in food formulation.

Abstract: Several medicinal plants are currently used to detoxify the liver and to protect the hepatocytes from effects of poison including drugs and chemicals. Certain drugs and chemicals have contributed to the degeneration and inflammatory diseases of the liver. Manikara obvata seeds are among the vast of natural remedies for liver degeneration. Therefore, the present study evaluated the antioxidant and hepatoprotective activities of methanolic and petrolueum ether extracts of Manikara obovata seed against carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced hepatic damage in rats. Thesubstantially elevated serum enzymatic levels of serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST), serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and acid phosphatase (ACP) were restored towards normalization by the extracts when compared with the CCl4-intoxicated control rats. The extracts also protected against CCl4 induced lipid peroxidation.
