Abstract: Research has been carried out to uncover the failure of groundwater drilling with the help of the geoelectric method at Pondok Pesantren At Taqwiin Karangasem Bali. The problem that lies behind this research is that the Pondok Pesantren At Taqwiin previously had a small cubang as a water source for washing and bathing purposes. Cubang's water conditions are relatively good with a TDS of 146 ppm, and lime of 130 ppm. Next to the cottage there is also a river whose water flows all year round. The land next to the hut is also always wet so the trees can thrive. Paying attention to such a situation, the cottage party in the manufacture of drilled wells immediately carried out drilling. Finally, up to a depth of 140 m, there is no source of water yet. After that, the drilling was stopped. Taking into account this situation, the question can be asked, namely: Why has no water source been found until a depth.......

Abstract: A very low frequency electromagnetic (VLF-EM) method was carried out to ascertain the level of contamination and pollution potential of a partially reclaimed dumpsite in Anantigha community in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State. A portable electromagnetic receiver (Geonics EM 16N) was used to acquire data in ten traverses measuring up to 100m for eight traverses and 200m for two traverses around the dump vicinity. Electromagnetic wave response was recorded as in-phase and quadrature components of the field. Qualitative data interpretation was carried out using Karous –Hjelt software. VLF curves produced showed minor fracture planes in the area.......

Abstract: A geophysical survey using electrical resistivity method was conducted to assess the vulnerability of aquifer in some parts of Awka, South Eastern, Nigeria. The Schlumberger array was adopted, vertical electrical sounding (VES) data were collected at twelve (12) locations with maximum current electrode spacing (AB) of 600m. The instrument used was Mc Ohm resistivity meter, a digital instrument for direct current resistivity work. The interpretation was done using software called IP2win. The results revealed that depth to aquifer ranged between 23.08 and 81.41m, resistivity of aquifer ranged between 452.9 and 2249.71Ωm. The interpreted parameters (resistivity and thickness) were......

Abstract: Land is becoming scarce resource due to population growth and rapid urbanisation.in many areas the land is put to misuse, under and over use. Further, the needs of growing population made man to convert the natural land cover to land use areas. with the result, most of the land surface has been affected or changed by man. Change detection studies are very important to have proper planning, monitoring, utilisation of natural resources and their management. In general, rural land use is dominated by cultivation, livestock, aquaculture and forestry and urban land use characterised by settlements, Recreation and industrial uses. This study applied supervised classification-Maximum likelihood algorithm in Arc GIS 10.3 to detect land use and land cover changes observed in Tungabhadra River basin of Kurnool district, using survey of India topographic......

Abstract: A total of twenty eight surface sediment samples were taken from Safaga Harbour area. Over 77.91% of the sediment texture in the area is constituted of sand. The gravel ranges between 0.00% and 32.32%, averaging 8.30%. Mud fraction ranges between 0.11% and 35.23%, with a 13.78% average. The high mud fraction content is due to dredging and landfilling in the harbour region, as well as the green petroleum coke unloading and shipping activities of phosphate ore. The mean size ranging from coarse sand to coarse silt, with an average of medium sand, suggesting that from shoreline and high topographic locations towards the open water, the sediment change from gravely and coarse sand to muddy sand and mud as the mean size increases......
