Abstract: Over the last years, several methods have been developed to collect point clouds that enable describing objects, which can support mapping and understanding urban furniture for urban planning and management. Considering the data volume, automatic methods are needed to speed up the object extraction from the point cloud. In this paper it is introduced a method for detecting and classifying poles using point cloud data acquired from a mobile terrestrial laser scanner. First, the 2D density is analyzed to locate and segment the probable objects. Then the geometry of the pole is modeled. The detected objects were further categorized into their respective top and pole components, and relevant variables were calculated for classification using a neural network. The results of.....

Abstract: The climate situation in Central Asia in the second half of the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st century is characterized by the fact that on the western periphery of the Central Asian Mountain system, horizontal and vertical air temperature gradients change over time and the nature of their changes leads to a reduction in mountain glaciation. Over the past 45 years, glaciers in some Gissar-Alai river basins have lost about 16% of their area, and glaciers in the Pskem river basin have lost 27% of their area. The regime of rivers and the potential for outburst of mountain lakes respond to the reduction of glaciers......

Abstract: Geophysical and geotechnical pre-foundation investigation was carried out as a means for engineering subsurface characterization at a major proposed construction location. The geophysical investigation utilized 2-D subsurface profiling and Vertical Electrical Soundings, combined with geotechnical laboratory analyses carried out in a standard engineering geology laboratory. The 2-D subsurface images delineated three lithologic units; classified as topsoil, weathered layer and fresh basement; with respective resistivity values that ranged between 14 and 39 ohm-m, 21 and 122 ohm-m and 62 and 1965 ohm-m; and depth interval of 0.1-3 m, 2-12 m and < 10 m to basement. Characteristic A- and H- type curves of 3-layer model with the H- model curve starting with decreasing resistivity,......

Abstract: In order to protect the environment and to increase its sustainability, the government sets up regulatory bodies to regulate the activities of oil and gas companies on the environment. They regulate the use of the environment by oil and gas companies by monitoring them and enforcing compliance with laid down rules and regulations, therefore this study examines the relationship between environmental compliance obligation and firm performance of of listed oil and gas companies in Nigeria. The data used for this study was obtained from the annual reports......

Abstract: Exploratory factor analysis is performed on the same two data sets gathered from hot springs in India's Extra-Peninsular and Peninsular areas using Promax rotation, as was done before for PCA and Varimax analysis. In this fashion, different approaches or processes, such as rotated, unrotated, orthogonal, and oblique factorial rotations, are utilized in exploratory factor analysis to achieve the same basic goal: component structure simplification, often known as "dimension reduction." Rotation methods are characterized as orthogonal (Varimax) or oblique.....

Abstract: Clinical research is an important part of the drug discovery process to ensure the safety and efficacy of any new drug. In today's global scientific era, clinical trials are the compulsory for bringing newer and better drugs to market. Clinical trials test potential treatments in human volunteers (subjects) to see whether they should be approved for wider use in the general population. India stood as a global hub for clinical trials in past years due to various factors. In this paper we discuss about clinical trials and clinical trials in India.Good clinical practice ( GCP ) is an international ethical analysis and scientific quality standard for designing, conducting, and auditing clinical trials that involve the participation of human subjects.FDA 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 11 refers to the FDA's regulations on electronic records and electronic signatures for clinical trials. Since most sponsors and research sites now use electronic documents, Part 11 has become more important than ever
