Abstract: As one of the effective ways to improve the utilization of reservoir, horizontal well technology has been widely used domestic and abroad. Drilling geological tracking is the key factor of achieving the purpose of drilling horizontal wells and good results. In this paper, the technical difficulties in the process of tracking have been analyzed, and the measures have been put forward. Considering the characteristics of the complex structure and the variable reservoir changes in Dagang oilfield, on the basis of practical tracking experiences on various horizontal wells, the method of calculating the best landing deviation.........

Abstract: Under the existing calculation conditions, improving reservoir simulation computing speed is of great significance, and it is a hot research issue in the world. At present, although the proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) method can be applied to the nonlinear reservoir simulation system, the acceleration is limited, because in the simulation process, each iteration step requires the construction and projection of the full order Jacobian matrix. Trajectory piecewise-linear.........

Abstract: Volcanic reservoirs widely distribute in the east and west of China, and become a hot area of exploration and development in recent years. Due to the dual or even multiple porous media of volcanic reservoirs and complex reservoir spaces and construct types, it is extremely difficult to development this type of reservoirs. There is not a systematic and mature development mode in the world at present. Reports on the exploitation of volcanic reservoirs are few and reports on the volcanic fractured heavy oil reservoir exploitation are even fewer. Zao 35 fault block of Zaoyuan oilfield is a heavy oil reservoir with complex.........

Abstract: In order to describe the distribution of the depression in the depression zone, the fault block is better developed. Based on the study of sedimentary microfacies, the reservoir sequence is divided and the distribution range of sand bodies is plotted by using sequence stratigraphy and comprehensive application of seismic, logging, logging and production dynamic data. Through the research on the Shahejie Formation of the Nv 32 fault block in Shenvsi Oilfield, the problem of unclear reservoir is solved and the scientific basis for oilfield development is provided.

Abstract: The Full assessment of an oil and/or gas field is a matter of a complex and interacting processes, including geological, engineering, and economical aspects. This work has been applied on Qasr oil field, which is located in the North Western Desert of Egypt. The Reservoirs are sandstones of Khatatba and Alam El Bueib Formations. Alam El Bueib Formation is divided into six units and the oil bearing unit is AEB-3. It is divided into seven sub-units. This research work focuses on the geological process, coupled with volumetrics and some statistical analysis, to determine the possibility to fully develop Qasr oil field in the northern Western Desert of Egypt..........

Abstract: The thermal structure of parts of Anambra sedimentary basin has been determined by applying a simple analytical technique of thermal resistance solution to heat flow equation. In this research, multilayer solution was derived from the heat flow equation with the assumption that the average bulk thermal conductivity of a layer sequence is equal to the harmonic average of the corresponding single layer bulk thermal conductivity. The subsurface temperature was obtained for seven formations in the basin. The computed geotherms for the sediment increase with depth..........

Abstract: With an upbeat in petroleum exploration efforts in Nigeria's inland Basins emphasis has been on basinal structure. In this study attempt is made to analyze processed gravity maps of the western sector of the Gongola Basin for qualitative interpretation and depth computations. The study area lies between latitude 9o 57′ -10o 24 ′ N and longitude 10o 23′-10o 50 ′ E. The geology of the area is dominantly Tertiary sediments of the Kerri Kerri Formation overlying Cretaceous sediments, Precambrian gneisses occur marginally to the west. Gravity data were processed using Winglink® (version 2.03.01 ). Residual data were filtered to generate 1st horizontal and1st vertical derivatives maps, and upward continued maps. Oasis Montaj software (7.0.1) was used to generate radial spectral graphs for depth computation...........

Abstract: The northeastern part of Greater Cairo is a target for development and anthropogenic activities that stress both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the groundwater resources. On the other hand, it is a critical area, being adjacent to the Second Egyptian Research Reactor. An annual increase in groundwater levels (0.206 m/year) was estimated by earlier work of Al Gamal, 2011. This represents a crucial problem in the study area where it may influence the environmental and population safety due to the nuclear installation under the effects of potential radiological release...........

Abstract: Improving reservoir simulation computing speed is of great significance under the existing calculation conditions. Model order reduction (MOR) technique represents a promising approach for accelerating the simulations. In this work, we combine proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) and trajectory piecewise-linear (TPWL) method. This method is called POD-TPWL method. First, the nonlinear system is represented as a weighted combined piecewise linear system using TPWL method, and then reducing order of each linear model using POD. We apply POD-TPWL method for a two-phase (oil-water) reservoir model which is solved by full implicit. The example demonstrates that which can greatly reduce the dimension of reservoir model, so as to reduce the calculation time and improve the operation speed.

Abstract: Elastic properties of rocks were derived from well logs and 3D post-stack seismic from Onshore Niger Delta through rock physics modelling and LamdaMuRho (LMR) seismic inversion. These rock properties were analyzed to map hydrocarbon bearing sands as well as the different fluid types trapped in them. P-impedance, S-impedance, Vp/Vs ratio, porosity, LamdaRho (λρ) and MuRho (μρ) were derived from well logs using appropriate relations. These rock parameters were analyzed in cross-plots space and used to determine which of them constitutes better indicators of pore fluids and lithology. Inversion of the post-stack seismic data was also carried out to generate...............
