Abstract: Periapical lesions develop as a sequela to pulpal diseases. The majority of inflammatory periapical lesions are initially treated with conservative non-surgical procedures. The success of root canal treatment is based on thorough cleaning, shaping and obturation of the root canal system. Calcium hydroxide and triple antibiotic paste (TAP) are recommended as intracanal medicaments due to its antibacterial properties. This case report describes the non-surgical management of a large cyst-like periapical lesion in relation to the maxillary lateral incisor of a 19-year-old male with the chief complaint of periodic swelling and pus drainage from the palatine region with a history of a traumatic accident in the same area. The present case highlights the use of calcium hydroxide and TAP as an interappointment endodontic dressing for non-surgical management of large periapical radiolucency, which resulted in favourable clinical and radiographic outcomes.

Abstract: Implant-supported prosthesis has emerged as preferred treatment of choice due to the irreliable functional and aesthetic outcomes. However, the clinician can encounter several challenges in accomplishing the task. Failure to understand stress factors and stress distribution often lead to bone loss and restoration failure. This case study aims to provide a comprehensive explanation of the entire prosthetic rehabilitation process using a fixed dental prosthesis supported by a tooth and an implant, all in accordance with standard guidelines.

Abstract: Background: substantial progress has been made in terms of the immediate placement of dental implants after tooth extraction. In cases were the bone is healthy with no atrophy, Periapical lesions, infection and enough bone component is available immediate implant is considered. Recently implant abutment welding was introduced specially for those edentulous patients who need immediate loading and who wanted to go out of the surgery with full load of teeth.....

Abstract: Background: Birth asphyxia and its attendant complications remain a common problem in our neonatal intensive care units. Compelling evidence from various epidemiologic studies shows that Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) is indeed one of the commonest complications of birth asphyxia. The kidneys are sensitive to oxygen deprivation and renal insult may occur within few hours of hypoxic-ischemic episode, which if prolonged could lead to irreversible cortical and or tubular necrosis. Aim: To determine the prevalence.....

Abstract: Background: Managing postoperative pain in pediatric anesthesia is challenging, with caudal epidural anesthesia being a preferred technique for its safety and efficacy. Enhancing analgesia duration through adjuvants like midazolam may improve outcomes. Objective: This study compares the effectiveness of caudal epidural bupivacaine alone versus a bupivacaine-midazolam mixture in children undergoing repair of congenital inguinal hernia, circumcision, and hypospadias repair, focusing on postoperative analgesia duration and side effects.....

Abstract: A 39-year-old man had been diagnosed after rolling out all the other possible causes as having intracranial hypertension with bilateral papilledema secondary to Behçet's disease with normal MRI scan. Despite treatment with steroids, methylprednisolone and repetitive LPs, he had little to no improvement. The patient later underwent a ventriculoperitoneal shunt operation with corticosteroid therapy and adjuvant treatment with topiramate and acetazolamide, which resulted in symptoms improvement. Thus, it is important to consider NBD in the differential diagnosis of patients with intracranial hypertension and bilateral papilledema and also ventriculoperitoneal shunting as an effective therapeutic alternative when medical treatment fail to normalize the intracranial hypertension building up..

Abstract: Behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), which include agitation, aggression, anxiety, and psychosis, are a common consequence of dementia[1]. BPSD is nearly universal in patients with dementia, where it is correlated with the advanced stage of the illness[2]. Agitation is among the most distressing symptom of dementia, which not only affects patients but also clinicians and caregivers. BPSD is of clinical significance as it is often strongly associated with functional impairment. Therefore, in addition to treating cognitive impairments, targeting BPSD should be considered a priority by mental health providers[3]. Nonpharmacological interventions should be the first line when treating BPSD although many barriers exist in clinical settings to implement......

Abstract: Characterised by a myriad of etiologies, acute pancreatitis occurring in the setting of hypercalcemia is rare. It is crucial to recognise the wide range of symptoms and signs of hypercalcemia in this regard. After having managed the patient according to standard protocols for pancreatitis and specific measures directed at reducing serum calcium levels, it is imperative to warrant an aggressive search for the etiology of hypercalcemia. This is pivotal in ultimately deciding management strategies and guiding further definite treatment plans. Here, we present a unique case of hypercalcemia, which on amalgamating clinical, biochemical, radiological and pathological clues, ultimately unraveled a rather enigmatic presentation of a common disease entity.

Abstract: Febrile seizures are the seizures that occur between the ages of 6 months to 60 months with a fever spike of 38 degree Celsius or higher that are not the result of CNS infections or any metabolic imbalance and that occur in the absence of history of prior afebrile seizures. A simple febrile seizure is a primary generalized tonic clonic attack associated with fever lasting for less than 5 minutes and not recurrent within a 24 hour period Recurrence of febrile seizure is common and causes for recurrence includes age less than 1 year, unrecognized high fever spikes, incompliance of clobazam. Educating and counseling of parents about the condition is important....

Abstract: Oral cavity harbours millions of bacteria which interact to form biofilm and thereby helps to maintain homeostasis. Dysbiosis in the normal flora leads to various oral diseases such as dental caries and periodontitis. Dental caries is the most common oral disease where acids are produced by fermentation of carbohydrate molecules by various bacteria such as Streptococcus mutans, Lactobacillus sp, leading to demineralization of the tooth structure. Another disease of interest is Periodontitis where subgingival plaque is associated with the progression of gingivitis to periodontitis. After the success of Fecal Microbial transplant, researchers has been inspired to find out whether Oral Microbial transplant can be used in the treatment of oral diseases..
