Abstract: This study examined farmers' awareness and perception of climate change on grain yield in Sokoto State, Nigeria. Systematic multi-stage sampling technique was used to select 6 LGAs in the state. Seven hundred and eighty-three (783) grain farmers were purposively selected using Krejcie and Morgan (1970)'s sample size determination. Yamane (2010) method was used to determine the number of respondents from each of the settlements. Structured questionnaire and FGD scheduled were used to obtain the required information from the selected farmers. Seven hundred and sixty-two (97.3%) questionnaire were successfully returned. Both descriptive (frequencies, percentages, mean) and inferential statistics (Likert-type rating techniques) were used for data analysis and presentation.....

Abstract: Lagoons are valuable ecosystems which play an important role in providing ecological services to coastal populations, sources of freshwater and refuge of fauna species. They are fragile ecosystems which are susceptible to degradation in the face of environmental changes due to natural or anthropogenic impacts. South East Asia has the highest diversity of lagoon species and habitat types, but basic information on lagoon habitats is still lacking. The assessment of lagoon ecosystem indicates the general valuation of natural resources that affected by direct and indirect anthropogenic activities. Abstract: In this study, the levels of organochlorine (lindane, aldrin, endosulfan and p,p'-DDT) pesticide residues were assessed in the liver, gill and muscle tissues of catfish and tilapia obtained from three locations along River Kaduna, coded, A, B and C; and three Fish Farms in Kaduna Metropolis, coded D, E and F respectively. Aldrin and endosulfan were not present in any of the samples tested, however, lindane and p,p'-DDT were detected in varying concentrations ranging from 0.005 to 0.015 mg/kg. Lindane was more prevalent, as 23 of the 36 samples assessed were contaminated with this pesticide. Tilapia liver and muscle tissue obtained from sampling points A and C in River Kaduna had lindane concentrations of 0.015 ± 0.001 mg/kg and 0.050 ± 0.002mg/kg. Also, the gill and....

Abstract: From the nutritional point of view, rye mixed bread has better characteristics than wheat bread, but in our country the production of this bread is reduced to a minimum. The reason for this is the production technology that makes it impossible to produce quality rye and rye mixed bread. Better quality rye mixed bread is obtained if sourdough is added during production. In this paper, we started from this assumption and tried to prove that quality rye mixed bread is obtained with the use of sourdough and that this technology can be implemented in our industrial bakeries without major problems. This is especially important since it could contribute to this type of bread being more often on the table of our consumers and significantly contribute to enriching their daily diet with important nutrients.

Abstract: Due to the increased movement of vehicles, industries, and population growth, pollution occurs and plays a vital role in environmental issues. An experiment was conducted during 2020 to assess air pollutants' concentration using sensors and Arduino on five traffic signals. The experiment was laid out during the afternoon and evening at five traffic signals of Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu State, using Arduino linked sensors viz., MQ-9, MQ-135 MQ-2. The analysis of pollutant gases from NO2, CO, CO2, and Air quality index (AQI), done by using breadboard and Arduino. Based on the results, NO2 was 303-206 ppm, CO from 243-87 ppm and CO2 from 395-261 ppm and which relates to AQI of NO2 is 119-139, proved unhealthy for sensitive groups, and CO of 1-2, is found to be safe and acceptable.

Abstract: In previous paper we had concluded that the drinking water quality degraded on storage and it did not even of use after 5 days due to very high accumulation of slimy biomass. In this paper we need to develop some filter techniques which were effective to store the drinking water for prolonged period. For that we will use 3 basic disinfectant through aluminum sulpahte, ferrous sulphate and ferric chloride, after the experiment it has concluded that the ferric cholride has the highest effect on the slime mould colony growth suppressing.
