Title | : | Knowledge and Practice of Documentation among Nurses in Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (Abuth) Zaria, Kaduna State. |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | Bello Hussainat Taiye |
Abstract: The study titled "Knowledge and practice of documentation among nurses in Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH)" was carried out to determine nurses' knowledge and practice of documentation. Relevant literatures were reviewed. A multistage and simple random sampling was used. Questionnaire (260) was the instrument of data collection with a response rate of 100% since 290 questionnaires were distributed. Frequency distribution tables, pie chart and bar chart were used to present the data. From the result of the study, most respondents (91.7%) were females and Christians (68.3%). All respondents have heard about documentation and thus practice all to the best of their abilities. About 70% of respondents practice effective documentation, 52% answered that effective documentation is done during the evening shift and 86.2% realized that there are barriers to documentation. It is recommended that there should be increased awareness about effective documentation process and implication of improper documentation.

Country | : | Egypt |
Authors | : | Safaa Diab Abd El- Wahab || Mohamed A. Abd El-Hay |
Abstract: Background Recent evidence suggests that cancer treatments have become more distress. The need for new techniques to manage pain, nausea, and other side effects are more necessary. Alternative interventions are more common used with chemotherapy patients. Patients with all tumor types need to use alternative intervention to decrease aversive side effects of chemotherapy. Aim. This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of Behavioral Intervention on reducing physical and psychological symptoms among cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Abstract: Background: Hypertension is one of the most common health problems in the world. Although hypertension can be modified, it is a leading risk factor for mortality, and there is a large proportion of elderly patients whose blood pressure remains uncontrolled. Knowledge and life style modifications of patients play an important role in the controlling of hypertension and preventing their long-term complications. Aim: This study was conducted to assess level of knowledge and perceptions related to hypertension, lifestyle behavior modifications and challenges that facing hypertensive patients.

Authors | : | Olfat A. Salem || Hazel N. Villagracia || Matarah A. Dignah |
Abstract: Auditing the Medical Record is maintained by 'proper management of health records and accurate, comprehensive record-keeping. Ensuring quality of patient care documentation can be attainted through its completeness in its medical record. This parameter is essential in the continuity of care rendered by different health professionals in the hospital. In return, the medical records can promote safety and effective communication with the health care team.

Title | : | Bacteria Isolated From the Cerebrio-Spinal Fluid (Csf) of Suspected Cases of Meningitis In Enugu State, Nigeria |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | Bryan Ogeneh || Cheryl Nwokeoma |
Abstract: 742 cerebrio-spinal fluid (CSF) samples were taken from suspected cases of bacterial meningitis at University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku-Ozalla, Enugu state, Nigeria. The patients were of various ages and sexes. The samples were analyzed bacteriologically to determine the various causative bacteria associated with these cases of suspected meningitis. Eleven (1.5%) were positive cases. The main etiological agents detected were Escherichia coli (36.4%), Neisseria meningitides (18.2%), Streptococcus pneumoniae (18.2%), Staphylococcus aureus (18.2%) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (9.1%). 64% of these cases of bacterial meningitis were children under 2years of age. The susceptibility of the isolates to antibiotics was investigated. All isolates were found to be sensitive to cephalosporins.

Title | : | Effectiveness of Passive Range of Motion Exercises on Hemodynamic parameters and Behavioral pain Intensity among Adult Mechanically Ventilated Patients |
Country | : | Egypt |
Authors | : | Gehan A. Younis || Safaa E. Sayed Ahmed |
Abstract: Mechanically ventilated critically ill patients are often given strict bed rest and sometimes completely immobilized because of the severity of their illness and administration of drugs such as sedatives and neuromuscular blocking agents. Mobilization can improve outcomes for these patients including significantly shorter lengths of stay and improved functional outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of passive range of motion exercises on hemodynamic parameters and behavioral pain intensity among adult mechanically ventilated patients. The study was carried out in Anesthesia Care Unit at Tanta Emergency Hospital. A quasi-experimental research design was utilized.

Abstract: Hydatid disease is an endemic disease in certain areas of the world. It is a widespread chronic zoonotic disease caused by helminthic larval stage of tapeworm Echinococcus granulosus. To study firstly the effect pH on the viability of protoscolices of sheep hydatid cyst in vitro. Secondly, to see the effect of the pH treated protoscolices on macrophage viability and its effect on secondary hydatidoasis in .vivo

Title | : | Analysis of Chemical Component of Hydatid fluid in infected sheep with Echinecoccus granulosus |
Country | : | Iraq |
Authors | : | Salwa.S.Muhsin || Mamdooh.AR.Mohsin || Yehia.K.Hossien |
Abstract: The aim of this study we attempt to identify and measured many chemical components of the cyst fluid and compare them with the serum level of infected animals. We collect 25 samples of lung hydatid cyst and blood of infected sheep from Baghdad / Al-Shalla . The existing Ca, P, Mg, Na and K were measured by a auto analyzer apparatus. The result of T.test showed there are a significant difference between serum and fluid of cyst in all electrolytes (P<0.001). Electrolytes show a significant difference between infected sheep and normal sheep. The entrance of essential electrolytes have depended on selective permeability and parasite requirement which comfier in our results. P and Ca have vital roles in the prevention acidity of hydatid cyst fluid. By understanding parasite nutrition behavior would help us to develop new drugs to treat and prevent hydatidosis by inhibit nutrition metabolism with another physiological reaction in the pathogen.

Title | : | Psycho-social aspects of Religion and Spirituality |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr Rachana Prasad |
Abstract: Usually religion and spirituality are synonymous with each other. But religion and spirituality are the two different factors in the determination of higher values of life. Spirituality is its individualistic character while religion is a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs and practices. The word 'Spirituality' comes from Latin word 'spiritus', meaning 'breath of life'. So, spirituality refers to a unique, personally meaningful experience of a transcendent dimension that is associated with a wholeness and wellness. It is an active process that involves a quest for meaningfulness in one's life. Spirituality is a person's view of life's meaning, direction, purpose, connectedness to other things and people. Mahatma Gandhi said that spirituality is a part of you; it's something that cannot be separated from your thinking, action-taking, self. It's who you are, your morals, your values, what bring you joy.
