Abstract: Schistosoma spindale is a parasite inhabiting the portal and mesenteric veins of Bubalus bubalis. The tegumental surfaces of adult S. spindale collected from naturally infected Bubulus bubulo were studied by Scanning Electron Microscopy. The inner surface of the male oral sucker possesses many spines. The ventral sucker is a fairly large protrusible organ and is infundibular in form with its margin more or less wavy. It is cup shaped and borne on a peduncle. The ventral sucker possesses spines. The width of the male and female is different at different regions. The lining of the gynecophoric canal is densely spined. The tegument of the female is similar to that of the male. The tegument of both sexes is devoid of spines.

Abstract: Poly cystic ovary syndrome [PCOS] represents the most common disorder in women during reproductive age. Because of the expensiveness and invasiveness of in vitro fertilization procedures [IVF], it has been tried to find a trustful, non invasive way for choosing embryos. Cell free DNA [cfDNA] extracted from follicular fluid can provide an indicator for embryo quality. Ovarian reserve has an important role in the occurrence of pregnancy in IVF programs, the aim of the study is measure the amount of cfDNA in the follicular fluid in females with PCOS undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection program and relating it to the ovarian reserve and embryo quality. Abstract: Barks of Ehretia laevis are very popular and well known for its astringent, anthelmintic, diuretic, demulcent, expectorant and veneral diseases. In this study the Total phenolic, Total flavonoid content, Antioxidant effect methanolic, aqueous and hydroalcoholic extract of dried dried Barks of Ehretia laevis Roxb was evaluated by Folin–Ciocalteau reagent, Aluminium chloride, 2,2-diphenyl-1,1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging, Nitric oxide radical scavenging assay, Hydrogen peroxide and reducing assay methods and compared. Abstract: Solanum Xanthocarpum is popularly known as kateri, has sharp and prickly branches that are densely covered with rather minute star shaped hair. The fruit of Solanum Xanthocarpum contains carpesterol, solanocarpine and glucoside alkaloids. It also contains solanidine and solamine S. Solanum Xanthocarpum also contains sterols, alkaloids, carbohydrates, fatty and amino acids. The roots of Solanum Xanthocarpum are used widely as a medical ingredient that has been used by Ayurvedic herbalists for relieving common ailments. The herb can relieve problems of bronchial asthma, bronchitis and chronic cough. It is a laxative and carminative that is useful in acute cases of gastrointestinal problems. The present study pertains to the treatments of Auxins such as IAA & IBA in various concentrations to the plants and their effects on the production of primary metabolites as total sugar, reducing sugar, total soluble protein and TCA precipitated protein reported from the plant.

Abstract: An alternative for the tests of immunodetection diagnoses is proposed in this work, based on the elaboration of a qualitative method that can aid in the identification of antigen-antibody immunochemical reactivity in rapid diagnoses of allergies. For this purpose, the allergen-containing Dermatophagoides farinae mite extract was immobilized with glutaraldehyde on reusable support and blocking steps, addition of antibody containing serum to the allergens present in the mite extract. The reactivity response was obtained after colorimetric revelation. The appearance of the purple color signaled the reactivity between antigen-antibody on the plate. The colored area was photographed and the reactivity was represented by the intensity of color in pixels using the gel analyzer software. Abstract: Sickle cell disease results in hemolytic anemia, vaso-occlusive crisis and susceptibility to infections. In Côte d'Ivoire, its prevalence is estimated at more than 14%. Patients use traditional pharmacopoeia with medicinal plants to treat themselves. The objective of this study was to verify the effectiveness of the aqueous extract of the composition of three medicinal plants (Jatropha grossypiifolia, Parquetinanigrescens and Justicia secunda) used in the treatment of sickle cell disease at East of the Côte d'Ivoire. Abstract: The primary aim of this study is to evaluate the pernicious effects of sodium cyanide (NaCN) on some biochemical aspects in the liver of fish Catla catla. Fish which were exposed to a sublethal concentration (0.2 mg/L) of sodium cyanide, for a period of 15 and 30 days and further allowed to undergo a recovery of 30 days, resulted in variation of levels of protein, free amino acid and protease enzyme activity with respect to control. The changes were in a manner that suggested the possible existence an oscillatory phase in biochemical modulations towards a more synthetic phase leading to the establishment of recuperation and adaptation phenomena. As, sodium cyanide is being a toxic component needs attention towards its neutralization prior to its disposal. Hence, it is inferred that necessary wariness should be taken during its discarding, as it possesses a serious threat to fish..

Abstract: Preliminary study on urinary schistosomiasis was carried out in five selected communities of Itu Local Government Area- Akwa Ibom State. A total of 400 urine samples were collected and analyzed by microscopy using sedimentation method to concentrate the eggs in urine. Structured questionnaire was used to determine the level of awareness about the disease by the residents of the communities, and was analysed using the Chi-square. Out of all the urine samples examined, 8(2.00%) were positive to Schistosoma haematobium. Abstract: The present work aims to study the biochemical changes of Culex pipiens females infected with Plasmodium cathemerium. For achievement this research, females of Culex pipiens were infected with Plasmodium cathemerium to study the effect of Plasmodium on Culex pipiens females protein profile quantitative and qualitative at 12h, 1d, 4d, 5d and 6d post infection for mid-gut samples, while salivary glands collected after 3d, 4d, 5d, 6d and 7d post infection. The results showed a significant gradual decreases in total protein concentration within the infected samples at all tested times. In case of mid-gut-samples, the total protein concentration of the infected samples decreased on comparing with control samples with exception after 5 d.p.i. the total protein concentration increases...........

Abstract: Plants have been used for medicinal purposes long before recorded history. Ancient Chinese and Egyptian papyrus writings describe medicinal uses for plants as early as 3000 BC. Indigenous cultures such as African and Native American used herbs in their healing rituals, while other developed traditional medical systems such as Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine in which herbal therapies were used.
