Title | : | Probe In Multi-Ethnic Disputes About HR Practices In HRM |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Ms.R.P.Kanchana || Dr.R.Ganesan |
Abstract: The real organization of human resource management is organizational culture and its reformation and management. Ethos is closely related to organizational strategy, structure and intention. It influences staff's notice of job selection, evaluation training, and reward and so on. In addition to the normal pressures of man-management, managers are now required to deal with challenges, friction and misunderstandings emanating from cross ethnic differences. Effective management in the modern environment necessitates cross ethnic competency in order to get the best out of a multiethnic team. With the growing significance of developing economies in the global business environment,

Title | : | The Eureka Moment: Or, Who Speaks in the Case Method? |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Shiva Kumar Srinivasan |
Abstract:What is the theoretical rationalefor the case method given its excessive dependence on speech as the main mode of instruction and learning? This paper argues that the problem of speech has not been adequately understood in the business school classroom. This is because the term 'speech' subsumes both 'intentional' speech and the 'sense of being spoken' through the 'desire of the Other.' The former relates to a situation where the speaker knows what he is going to say and then goes on to say it. The latter relates to a situation where the speaker finds that he is saying something more or something less than what he consciously intended to say. It could also be the case that he winds up saying something Other than what he consciously intended to say. In other words, there is a difference between articulation and reconstructing the intentionbehind the articulation in an act of speech. This is the main reason why both instructors and students are afraid to 'let-go' in the case method of instruction.

Title | : | SWOT Analysis in Thirukkural: Comparative Analysis with Humphrey SWOT Matrix |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Alka Jain |
Abstract:Modern SWOT analysis was explained first (not originated) by Albert Humphrey in the 1960 and 70s using data from Fortune 500 companies, when he led a convention at the Stanford Research Institute. Thirukkural SWOT model is an ancient model developed on the basis of observations of the composer almost 2000 years ago. Thirukkural , the pancham veda (Fifth sacred book) of Tamilians is being looked at as a management handbook in this study. It has been analysed whether the book gives us an exact model of SWOT (Analysis of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis for an entrepreneur. The observations and readings lead to a more detailed SWOT model in Thirukkural. There are terms which are explained through a set of many verses. For example opportunity scanning has been explained in the chapter 49.

Title | : | A Comparison of Hsu &Wang Model and Cost of Carry Model: The case of Stock Index Futures. |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Manu K S || Dr. Sathya Narayana |
Abstract:The study empirically tests and compares the pricing performance of two alternative futures pricing models; the standard Cost of Carry Model and Hsu & Wang Model (2004) for three futures indices of National Stock Exchange (NSE), India – CNX Nifty futures, Bank Nifty futures and CNX IT futures. It is found that, the Hsu & Wang Model with an argument of incomplete arbitrage mechanism and real capital markets are imperfect, provides much better pricing performance than the standard Cost of Carry Model for all the three futures markets. On the basis of Mean Absolute Pricing Error (MAPE), CNX Nifty Futures contract with highest trading history and trading volume is preferred, followed by Bank Nifty futures and CNX IT futures contract for both the pricing models. This result implies that Indian futures markets are imperfect and arbitrage process cannot complete. Degree of market imperfection might influence the pricing error. Therefore, investors should know the degree of market imperfection of the futures markets in which they would like to participate.
Key words: Degree of Market Imperfection, Futures Indices, Futures pricing models, pricing Performance

Country | : | India |
Authors | : | K. Ramakrishna |
Abstract:Training programs with emphasis on practical learning, targeted at the unemployed youth, who make a proactive beginning to learn the chosen-skill, play a crucial role in their skills and economic development. Such skill (technical) trainings, offered as a capsule, along with and adequate focus on motivational, managerial and financial literacy inputs bring the desired change in the unemployed youth which reflects in their taking up self-employment ventures for their own economic prosperity and their respective areas as well. The very fact was proved beyond doubt by the establishment and spread of Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institutes (RUDSETIs) in 1982 and thereafter in select locations across the country.

Title | : | Political Factors Militating the Success of Hospitality Industry in Nigeria: Some Preliminary Results. |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | Dr. Austin O. Oparanma |
Abstract:This study examined the extent to which changes in government and political issues have affected the non-manufacturing sector of the economy putting the hospitality industry as the study base. The study covered both private and public owned hotels in Rivers State capital, Port Harcourt. Data were collected and analyzed using simple percentage and frequency distribution table. The results of our study revealed a link that management of this organization amongst others has contributed to its poor performance. The study concluded that incessant changes in government and their massive interference in the management of this industry have great effect. Also, political instability and legal system contributed greatly to their failure. It was therefore recommended that this sector of the economy should be privatized and not be allowed to be controlled by government selection and appointment. Management positions should be based on managerial capabilities and knowledge. Also, educational trainings and seminars should be often conducted to improve knowledge.

Title | : | Measuring Technical and Scale Efficiency of Banks in India Using DEA |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Nand kumar || Archana Singh |
Abstract:This study uses CRR model and BCC model to estimate the technical and scale efficiency of commercial banks in India during the periods 2006-2010. The results indicate that deregulation of banking sector has led to an increase in the efficiency of commercial banks in India. This increase in efficiency of banks in India is not only because of increase in pure technical efficiency but also due to increase in its scale efficiency. The results show large spread of technical efficiency between companies during the period. The estimated results also shows that performance of private sector banks has been better than public sector banks during the period and source of inefficiency is mainly due to its scale rather than pure technical inefficiency.

Title | : | Guiding Large Scale Organizational Changes In Today's Economy |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | Dr. Austin O. Oparanma |
Abstract:This paper x-rays guiding organizational changes which is basically any alterations in people, structure, or technology. Today's change issues: changing organizationally cultures, handling employee stress, and making change successfully are critical concerns for today's managers. This means that a contemporary or current manager must be well equipped to handle today's dynamic and uncertain environment. The only constant thing about change is that it is constant. Managers these days don't have the luxury of dealing with change only once in a while. No. the workplace now seems to change almost continuously. Being prepared isn't only for the Boy Scouts alone anymore, it should also be for managers dealing with a workplace that is constantly changing. And being prepared means taking initiative ideas and being ready for the changes
