Title | : | PM to HRM – Rebranding or A New Label? |
Country | : | England |
Authors | : | Dr. Eno A Maycock || Erefagha Allaputa || Gillian D. Waripanye || Richard Geraghty || Senifa Chikafa |
Abstract: This paper examines what is new in the concept of HRM in comparison to PM in organisations. It took an in-depth look at the transition from Personnel Management to Human resource management, showing that HRM is not different from PM but just an improvement to the traditional PM practices. Understanding the issues that led to HRM developments will make it easier to dispel any contention that they are two different ideologies. The paper went further to look at the evolution of PM as well as HRM, and evaluates current Human resource management practices within some organisations. This paper presented an empirical study using in-depth research and review of current literature to identify the current state of knowledge and to outline some of the opposing positions that are being expressed by the various schools of thought.

Country | : | Malaysia |
Authors | : | Ishaya John Dabari || SitiZabedah Saidin |
Abstract: Despite the increasing importance of enterprise risk management in enhancing shareholder value and organisational performance, research on risk management related issues have drawn little attention. The primary aim of this survey is to analyse the current state of ERM practices in the Nigerian banking sector. A cross-sectional data was collected through 722 questionnaires that were distributed to the top, middle and lower level managers in all the commercial banks in Nigeria. The findings revealed that the current focus of ERM efforts and areas of risks that present the greatest threats to the banks are positively significant to the current state of ERM practices.

Title | : | Administration and the Rules, Regulations of Censorship: A Study on Bangladesh Film Censor Board (BFCB) |
Country | : | Bangladesh |
Authors | : | Md. Mohiuddin |
Abstract: Censor used as verb in 'Licensing Act-1662' which meant to examine or remove parts of Book, News paper, Drama, film etc. Gradually the word' Censor Board' and 'Censorship' came from censor. 'Censor Board' means a group of persons appointed to examine books, manuscripts, news papers, films etc. before they reach the public; 'Censorship' means the office work to exercise the power on book, news paper, drama and film etc. Censorship is an act, a policy and a system of censoring which is an important political tool of control over media and film of any country by the government. It is specially imposed on film because film has an extra power to influence the public. American government realized this truth then they thought that somehow a controlling system on film should be created. Accordingly they framed and declared "Film Control Order' at Sicago in 1907. The primary objective of this study is to find out the censorship management sector of Bangladesh which practices in issuing censorship certificate and the role of BFCB's support in implementing the managerial activities. This study has used both primary and secondary data collection techniques. Various problems have identified& recommendations are also included in the study.

Title | : | Bank Service Performance Improvements using Multi-Sever Queue System |
Country | : | Ethiopia |
Authors | : | Eshetie Berhan |
Abstract: Modeling and managing the performances of a service industry is challenged due to the randomness of arrival and service time. This paper considers one bank in Addis Ababa and tries to model its service performances as a multiple server queue structure system. Secondary data related to arrival rate, service time and cost are collected from the same bank for a period of one month. The data was fitted in the model and tested using the enterprise dynamic simulation system. The findings of the study show that both arrival of customers and service time rate of servers follow a Poison exponential probability distribution respectively. Moreover, the optimum number of the servers resulted from the model is found to be five serves but with a low server utilization rate of 0.578. Therefore the bank is recommended to improve its server utilization
