Abstract: This Paper Presents A Method Of Obtaining Optimal Pi Gains For A Fuzzy-Pi Controller To Control The Frequency Of Micro Hydro Power Plant (Mhpp).Conventional Control Techniques Such As Proportional, Integral And Derivative (Pid) Controllers Have Been Used As Controllers To Control The Frequency Of Mhpp, But These Controllers Attain Poor Control Performances, Such As High Overshoots And Long Settling Times. The Purpose Of The Study Is To Obtain Optimal Pi Gains For A Fuzzy-Pi Controller By Use Of The Bacterial Foraging Algorithm (Bfa) In Matlab/Simulink Environment.The Results Are Then Compared With Conventional Pi And Fuzzy-Pi Controller.
