Abstract: The English Language is assuming increasing roles in Nigeria and globally thus the need to make its grammar more meaningful and more result-oriented to greater number of Nigerians and other peoples of the world has become imperative. This need is even more urgent in Nigerian context given the fact that English is the language of intra and inter-ethnic communication apart from its official status and functions in Nigeria's economic, legal, technological, educational, socio-political life. Just as English is central to Nigeria's progress so also is the verb to English. The verb is an obligatory element in English because without it no sensible sentence can be made in the language. The English verb is as wide as human speech hence it will be impossible to explain it in detail in a single paper of this nature. The descriptive research design was used to discuss the verb paying particular attention to its auxiliaries and contractions. Some approaches and teaching strategies that would make the learning of this obligatory element of all English sentences more meaningful and result-oriented within and outside the classroom situations were also suggested.

Abstract: This paper examined the effects of crossword-picture puzzle (CPP) and mental ability on students' achievement in Basic Science. A pretest-posttest quasi experimental design was employed. The sample consisted of 389 JSS II Basic Science Students from nine schools randomly selected in three States in Southwestern Nigeria. Four instruments used were-Teachers' Instructional Guides for: Crossword-Picture Puzzle Teaching Strategy, Conventional Lecture Method; Basic Science Students' Achievement Test (r=0.70) and Australian Council for Educational Research Test (r=0.86) Three hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. Data were analysed using ANCOVA and mean scores. Results showed that treatment had significant main effect on achievement (F (2,389) =202.16; p< 0.05; ᵑ2=.52). Mental ability had significant main effect on achievement (F (2, 389) =5.04; p<0.05; ᵑ2=.03). There was no significant two-way interaction effect of treatment and mental ability on achievement (F (4,389) =1.630; p>.05; ᵑ2=.017).Crossword-picture puzzle strategy is therefore, recommended to be adopted by Basic Science teachers and curriculum planners. Abstract: The present approach of English language teaching throughout the world is communicative. CLT is one of the techniques that require interactive classroom activities with the amalgamation of the four language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. This article presents an overview of interactive teaching and its difficulties in context of Bangladesh. Interactive learning means acquiring information through practically, interactive means. The opposite of interactive learning is unreceptive learning, which is merely observing a learning route or just listening to information. The interactive classroom is fast becoming the medium in the educational institutions. The incorporated 21st century interactive classroom is an appealing and modified learning environment intended to optimize teaching and learning through the consistent use of mobile computing, audio, visual and influential assessment technologies across the program.

Abstract: The study sought to find out the effect of street hawking on academic performance of students of social studies in Nasarawa state. The sample comprises of 100 JSS III students, 50 females and 50 males. Quasi-experimental post-test design was employed. Test item; Social studies performance test (SSPT) instrument was use. Using t-test statistics the result shows that: the experimental group exposed to hawking performed significantly lower than the control group who are not exposed. The performances mean score of the experimental group is 10.50 while the control group is 15.60. The study found that street hawking has negative effect on students' academic performance in social studies. It recommends that government should create more job opportunities so that children would not have to contribute to family income.

Abstract: The need of data monitoring of student attendance by tapping on the machine Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) provides several advantages. But sometimes there are some students do not attend class after tapping. It is a problem faced by university because of the lack of correspondence between the numbers of students who are tapping the number of students who attend class. Because of these problems, then conducted research on monitoring of correspondence between the number of students tapping on RFID machine with the number of students who attend class. In addition, from the observed data, can also be used to monitor the attendance of students at Bina Nusantara university using control charts. The long-term goal of this research is to reduce the level of fraud and monitor the attendance of students in class. The sample in this study are 04PHT (Computer Science), 04 PJM (Information Systems), 02 PBS (Civil Engineering), 02 PEU (Graphic Design New Media), and 04 PBO (Marketing Communication). From this research results, concluded that the p control chart, for the absence of the characteristic number of students in the fifth classes under controlled conditions. Furthermore, concluded also that the p control chart, to characteristic number of students cheating in class 04 PHT courses basic communication networks and systems of data under controlled conditions. A process is said to be controlled if the value is within the interval statistics UCL (Upper Control Limit) and LCL (Lower Control Limit).

Abstract: The question of integrating entrepreneurship programs in higher education has largely been debated during the latest years. The benefits of this education are today well recognized by schools, universities and politics as well. The personal acquisitions related to entrepreneurship education are considered as significant mainly to differentiate the students and allow them to develop new abilities that were not considered by traditional education. Following a study of two years in a Moroccan engineering school, this article offers a general view of the results of a pilot experience of an entrepreneurship program as well as a digest of the conclusions related to the advantages, difficulties and recommendations for entrepreneurship education within this environment. This paper has two objectives: from one hand is to give a general overview of the conducted study's concluding remarks; and from another hand, to share our reflection about the subject of introducing an EEP (Entrepreneurship Education Program) in an engineering school in Morocco.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of parental influence on adolescents' career choice on secondary schools students in Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State. The sample consisted of three hundred respondents who were randomly selected from ten purposely selected secondary schools (3 Model Colleges, 4 Non-Model Colleges, and 3 Private Colleges). The instrument used was a questionnaire which was administered to the respondents personally by the researcher. Five (5) null hypotheses were formulated and tested. Chi-square, using analysis of contingency table was used to test the hypotheses. All hypotheses were tested at the 0.05 level of significance of variable of sex, class of school, and type of school as to the effects of parental influence on adolescents' career choice on secondary schools students in the Local Government Area. The findings of the study showed that 48.36% of the respondents agreed to parents influencing their career choice. On the average, 21.5% of the respondents agreed that their parents' line of business influenced their career choice, while 78.5% disagreed. On the whole, 30% of the respondents agreed that they chose the family career because they need to sustain the family business. In addition, three (3) out of the five (5) null hypotheses tested were accepted because there were no significant differences in the variables compared. These were hypotheses 1, 3, and 5. Hypotheses 2 and 4 were rejected as there were significant differences in the variables compared. The results of these findings seem to indicate that adolescents in secondary schools in Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State have some form of independence in making career choices.
