Abstract: The study sought to identify the common process errors of senior secondary school students in geometry in Anambra State. Mixed design method was used for study involving a survey, instrumentation and quasi-experimental designs was used. Three research questions and one hypothesis guided the study. Multiple stage sampling procedure was used to draw a sample of 297 from a population of 6265 senior secondary three (SS3) students. The Mathematics Diagnostic Test (MDT) was the instruments for data collection which was validated by three experts. The inter rater method was used to establish the reliability of the instrument which yielded a reliability index of 0.88. The data collected were analyzed using frequency counts, percentages and Mann Whitney U test. Findings of the study showed among others that; five (5) common process errors types in mathematics were committed.....

Abstract: The role played by in-service training in resource management by head teachers in Free Primary Education (FPE) in public primary schools is critical. Through the FPE policy, the government pays teachers, support staff and caters for utilities and the required basic teaching and learning resources. This study sought to establish the influence of in-service training of head teachers in resource management on their implementation of free primary education (FPE) in public primary schools in Kiambu County, Kenya. Theoretical foundation of the study was the Social Demand Approach to Education which is a model of educational planning aiming at aligning the educational investments according to the social demand for education but including economic use of the available resources. The study......

Abstract: The study investigated the effects of Computer-Aided Concept and Vee-Mapping Strategies on Senior Secondary School Students' Learning Outcomes in Organic Chemistry In Niger State, Nigeria. The study has two objectives, answered two research questions and tested two null hypotheses. The study adopted quasi-experimental research design where an experimental and a control group were used. Two secondary schools were selected and designated as Experimental Group I and Experimental II with a sample size of 57 (26 Males and 27 Female). Reliability coefficient of 0.86 was obtained when Organic Chemistry Achievement Test was administered on the students. The research questions were answered using mean and standard deviation while Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to test the hypotheses using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 20 to conduct the statistical analysis. The study revealed that students taught Organic Chemistry using Vee-Mapping Strategy performed better than those taught......

Abstract: A primary focus of science education in many African countries in the eighties has been the search for relevant content and new methods of science teaching and learning which should be alternatives to the colonial teaching and learning. This embraces philosophies in which education takes place and thus meet the needs of the learner. Certain stereotypes about African attitude towards science education also account for poor performance and state of affairs in this country. Every nation like Nigeria strives towards the provision of quality education for its citizens. Achieving this quality education takes into consideration science education sector in this 21st century, it has been observed by educationist that attention from academic theories in universities and secondary schools into current......

Abstract: Academic achievement is usually used to describe an individual's performance in subjects taught and tested in school. The poor performance of science students in WASSCE, in particular chemistry continued. This has always been attributed to teaching method of chemistry teachers, the students' lack of interest and many others. But there are some psychological constructs that forms the basic make up of every individual (student),example achievement motivation and locus of control which also can contribute to the performance of these students.Achievement motivation is a person's desire to succeed or complete a task successfully while Locus of control refers to an individual's perception about the cause of the various events(good/bad; success/failure) that happens in his/her life. The study was undertaken to investigate secondary school students' achievement......

Abstract: In order to be prepared for science-based degrees at universities, it is the view of many that the groundwork in mathematics that one receives at secondary school is fundamental. This research employed the analysis of data collected through questionnaires, interviews, online student record management system reports and anecdotal records from first year students, lecturers and administrators from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Guyana, Turkeyen Campus as well as secondary school teachers across the ten administrative regions of Guyana. It uncovered the mathematical preparation of first year Natural Sciences students at the University of Guyana , Turkeyen Campus.......

Abstract: It is possible that errors and misconceptions that students commit in examinations are among the leading factors that negatively affect their performance. This research investigated common errors and misconceptions that students are prone to commit in MTH 1101 – Algebra, their frequencies and how they affect their performance. This study adopted a descriptive survey design and involved one hundred and ten students from the MTH 1101 - Algebra class (2019/2020). Data was collected through a survey in the form of a test. The analysis revealed that students had the greatest difficulty in performing operations on algebraic fractions as well as reporting all the solutions to an algebraic equation......

Abstract: This study was conducted to find out pronunciation errors of English consonant sounds produced by first year students at Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Techology in Vietnam. 120 audio recordings of 120 different students who were studying English Course 1 were used to identify the errors. The results show that students had problems with both single consonant and consonant cluster pronunciation. Their errors included replacing difficult unfamiliar sounds in English with familiar sounds in Vietnamese, omitting sounds in clusters and adding redundant sounds. Those findings definitely help teachers and students get better understanding of pronunciation errors so that they can have solutions to improve learners' English pronuncation.
