Abstract: Quality education is a key factor in ensuring the future success of our nation. India will have the largest number of young people, but also has one of the highest rates of children out of school. The education system in India is based on an old colonial model that neither serves our current need, nor produces employable graduates with 21st century skills. This study looks at different perspectives on what constitutes quality, what the current state of education is in India, and how this may be improved. It also highlights positive advancements made in recent times, and what the needs may be in the future

Title | : | Arabic and Carnatic Violin Styles – A Comparison |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Ambi Subramaniam |
: | 10.9790/1959-0903030813 |
Abstract: India had one style of classical music up and till the 12th century. During the 12th century, the Persians invaded the Northern part of India, leading to the Mughal rule. As a result, music, amongst other things, also took influences. The music in the North of India took Persian influences, and presumably the reverse happened as well. As a result, there are a few similarities with the Arabic style of music and the Indian styles of music, especially the Hindustani style, which reflect in the playing style as well - especially the long, unaccompanied violin solos, which are quite similar to aalaps. This comparitive study specifically focuses on violin styles in Arabic and Carnatic music.

Abstract: Learning models that can improve science process skills and student responsibilities include the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and the Inquiry model. But the results of the study show that the PBL model and Inquiry still need to be improved to improve science process skills and student responsibility, especially in chemistry learning. Learning models that are designed based on theoretical studies and empirical studies form the syntax of OCCIE learning models with phases, namely 1) Orientation, 2) Construct, 3) Communicate, 4) Improve, 5) Evaluate. The purpose of this model is to improve science process skills and the responsibility of high school students...
