Abstract: 4-(Fluorophenyl)but-3-en-2-ones are reduced to 4-(fluorophenyl)but-3-en-ols by Luche reduction (NaBH4, CeCl3, CH3OH). 4-(Fluorophenyl)but-3-en-2-ones as substrates have been prepared by solventless Wittig-reaction. 4-(Fluorophenyl)but-3-en-2-ols can be seen as potential starting material for fluorinated styrene derivatives.

Abstract: The polyethylene glycol capped silver nanoparticles have been synthesized through the aqueous preparation method by means of exploiting polyethylene glycol as reducing agent. The chain length of polyethylene glycol plays an important role in the formulation of silver nanoparticles. In the current study, AgNO3 acts as a precursor, polyethylene glycol used as the reducing as well as a capping agent and the pH of the reaction mixture was maintained by using NaOH solution. X-ray diffraction, UV-Visible, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Scanning electron microscope and Energy dispersive spectroscopy measurements were performed to confirm the formation of the polyethylene glycol capped silver nanoparticles. The size of the polyethylene glycol capped silver nanoparticles was found to be 17 nm by using the Debye-Scherer formula. This polyethylene glycol capped silver nanoparticles were tested for Antibacterial activity against four tested bacteria Bacillus subtillis, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas putida, staphylococcus aureus which was proved to be a good effect..

Abstract: Silver nanoparticles were synthesized by reducing 0.1M silver benzoate salt with 2ml of neem leaf extract, in an eco-friendly, cost effective process. Silver nanoparticles were tested to have strong zones of inhibition on the antibacterial and antifungal isolates; E. Coli, Salmonella typhi, Aspergillus flavus and mucor species used. UV-visible spectrophotometric analysis was carried out on both the silver benzoate salt and silver nanoparticles, which show bathochromic shift from 215nm (Silver benzoate) to 435nm (Silver nanoparticle). Neem seed oil was converted to alkyd resin in two steps; alcoholysis and esterification reactions respectively, and was characterized by FTIR, acid value and solubility..............

Abstract: Pyrimidones have been reported to possess significant biological activities, viz., fungicidal, bactericidal, hypnotic and anaesthetic activities. Substituted pyrimidones are also known to exhibit significant anticancer activities. The anticancer activities of the newly synthesized compounds were evaluated against human cell lines/panel namely Leukaemia, Non-Small Cell Lungs Cancer, Melanoma, Ovarian Cancer, Renal Cancer, Prostate Cancer, CNS Cancer Melanoma, Breast Cancer and Colon Cancer. Compounds exhibit moderate to high level of activities with cell lines. 1-Acidamide-3-aryl/H-1,3-dihydro-2-thioxo-2H,5H-pyrimidine-4,6-diones substituted compounds are synthesized. Their purity was ascertained by TLC and recrystallization methods and checked with the help of mixed melting points............

Abstract: A new, simple, sensitive and fastdeveloped methodfor the determination of Indomethacinin pure form and drugs (tablets)by continuous flow injection diverged light. The method based on the reaction of the Indomethacin with Phosphotungstic acid to formoff-white precipitate, using homemade ISNAG- fluorimeter. Optimum parameter have been studied to increase the sensitivity for developed method. The linear dynamic range for the instrument response versus Indomethacinconcentration was 0.01- 5mmol/L while the L.O.D was 320.222ng/sample from the step wise dilution for the minimum concentration of lowest concentration in the linear dynamic range of the calibration graph...........

Abstract: Interaction between human serum albumin (HSA) and risedronate sodium (RDT) was investigated by employing (emission and synchronous) fluorescence, ultraviolet–visible (UV-Vis) absorption, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopic methods, voltammetry, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and molecular docking studies at physiological buffer conditions (pH 7.4). Stern–Volmer and Modified Stern–Volmer equations showed that static quenching, Van't Hoff equation determined the interaction is spontaneous process and the binding is through hydrogen bonds and vander Waals forces. FT-IR reveals that the secondary structure of HSA was altered upon interaction with RDT. UV-Vis, SEM and voltammetric studies were given the information on complex formed between HSA and RDT.............

Abstract: Threefish species (Oreochromisniloticus,Bagrusbayad (mac) and Clariasgariepinuscaught from Shagari earth dam were analysed for their proximate, minerals and heavy metal content.Proximate analysis of the fish samples was done by official (AOAC) method. Minerals and Heavy metals in the fish powder were determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). Theresult of proximate composition revealed that the fishes have protein content within the range of 13.96 - 16.56% and moderate level of ash content (1.90 - 7.25%). Available carbohydrate fall within 1.20 – 5.25% while crude lipid appears between (1.36 – 1.64%). Nitrogen free exracts (DW) falls within0.38 – 1.93%. Na (74.44±6.42mg/100g) and Zn (0.09 ± 0.02 mg/100g) were found higher in C. gariepinus, while O. niloticus dominatedin K (168.50 ± 12.50mg/100g), Mg (0.69 ± 0.06 mg/100g) and Pb (0.17 ± 0.05 mg/100g). B. bayad(mac) has higher content (3.94 ± 0.19mg/100g) for P, (0.04± 0.20) for Cr and 0.06± 0.30mg/100g for Cd. The fisheshave low level of trace elements and heavy metals. Potassium and Sodium are the predominant macro-elements in the fish samples. Their consumption could reduce macro-nutrient and potassium malnutrition in both poor and rich family groups.
