Abstract: Background:- Following a radical cancer surgery resection, reconstruction of the defect by micro vascular free flaps seem to be ideal procedures for reconstruction in head and neck region. These provide ample amount of tissue for large and even complex defects and enhance reconstruction. Microvascular free flaps have also provided flexibility for the onco surgeon for extensive surgical resections. Method :- There were about 48 free flap performed in a span of 3 months from December 2020 till February 2021 in the surgical oncology department of kiran multispecialty hospital , Surat. For reconstruction of both bony and soft tissue defect. The choice of free flaps were the free fibula flap along with radial and Anterio-lateral thigh flap. Results:- the success rate of the viability......

Low back is very essential in our daily activities like - lifting, carrying, supporting upright posture which is essential for every person out there regardless of the job they are serving. As there is high prevalence of having tight hamstring in patients complaining of low back pain. So, the purpose of study was to investigate the comparative Effect of "Mulligan's BLR and Self hamstring MFR in young adults with non-specific low back pain......

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the mediating role of personality traits in the relationship between depression and coping among pregnant women. Materials and Methods: It was a cross-sectional study involving 200 participants receiving antenatal care at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH) Enugu, Nigeria between the ages of 17 and 41. Data were obtained using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), Brief Coping Scale (BCS) and the Big Five Inventory (BFI). SPSS Version 21/ Process Macro and Pearson Correlation Tests were used to analyze the data. Results: Both coping styles and......

Abstract: Background: Craniocerebral trauma is a major cause of death and disability around the world. In most Nigerian cities, poor conditions of roads and increasing urban congestion have led to more road traffic accidents (RTAs). Computed tomography (CT) is an essential tool in the management of head trauma. This study evaluated the CT imaging findings in patients presenting with craniocerebral trauma. Materials and methods: This was a retrospective study which involved radiological CT reports of 139 patients conducted at a tertiary hospital in Uyo metropolis, Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria. Only records of patients who underwent non-contrast cranial CT following head trauma were included this study. Data generated was analysed using descriptive statistics.......

Abstract: Laurence-Moon-Bardet-Biedl syndrome is a rare ciliopathic autosomal recessive disorder mostly seen in children of consanguineous marriages. It is identified by its characteristic features namely retinitis pigmentosa, obesity, mental retardation and polydactyly. Herein, we report a case of a 24 year old female presenting with features of renal dysfunction like anemia, decreased urine output, vit D3 deficiency and further examination was found to show features of LMBBS i.e retinitis pigmentosa, learning disabilities, polydactyly and obesity. It is important for the physicians to be aware of this syndrome for early identification. Multidisciplinary approach and periodic follow up can decrease the morbidity and mortality of the patient.

Title | : | β-Amyloid Peptide and the Alzheimer's Disease |

Abstract: The formation and deposition of the -amyloid peptide (A) are largely thought to be responsible for the development of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Researchers have been perplexed by the sluggish to nonexistent association between the degree of clinical dementia and the amount of neuritic plaque disease in the human brain for a long time. This question has been resolved thanks to recent developments in our knowledge of the origins of amyloid disease. The solubility of A and the amount of A in various pools may now be more directly tied to disease state, according to substantial evidence. The make-up of these pools of A reflects various populations of amyloid deposits and is clearly correlated with the patient's clinical condition. Using imaging methods, such as novel amyloid......

Abstract: Background: Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is defined as any type of bleeding in which the amount, duration, frequency and cyclicity is abnormal for a patient.1 In order to treat the condition, it is important to identify the cause of bleeding. Treatment must remain individualised and encompass the impact of pressure symptoms, desire for retention of fertility and contraceptive needs, as well as address the management of their AUB in order to achieve improved quality of life. This study was conducted to study the various treatment modalities in AUB with a detailed analysis of medical management which may effevtively avoid surgical approach in such patients and thereby decrease morbidity and improve quality of life. Materials and Methodology: This study was conducted......
