Abstract: The majority of the inland waters are supersaturated in CO2 with respect to the atmosphere and exhibit a pCO2 diurnal variability that may be related to different factors. These environments have been recognized as a significant source of greenhouse gas at aglobal scale. Currently, continuous and direct measurements of water pCO2 remain scarce in aquatic environments. Most published pCO2 data are measured with the direct methods of headspace or by using an equilibrator, or calculated from temperature, pH and the total alkalinity. The objective of this study was to present the first results of direct and continuous measurements of pCO2, performed with a compact sensor in an Amazonian tropical lake and compare and evaluate these measures with the measures carried.......

Abstract: Present study attempted to isolate the drug resistant micro-florain some pre and post microwave oven treated burger those were collected from popular shop in Dhaka City, Bangladesh. Abstract: The study aimed atreconnoitering the bacteriological quality of cabbages (Brassica oleracea), carrots (Daucus carota)and lettuce (Lactuca sativa)cultivated on animal manure-enriched-soil in the Kumasi Metropolis of Ghana. Counts of bacteria and fungi (yeast/moulds) were explored using standard microbiological methods. A total number of 78 bacteria isolates were observed, 76.92% of them being Gram-negative. Abstract: This study evaluated the effects of Refinery waste water discharge on the water quality and algae in Ekerekana creek, Rivers State, Nigeria. The sediment and water samples were collected from four sampling points in order to assess the concentration of industrial effluent in Ekerekana creek. Abstract: In this work, we have produced and determined some physical and combustion characteristics of biomass briquettesmade with palm kernel shell (PKS) as the major component of interest. We considered four briquette samples. Samples I and II were produced with different compositions of PKS, sawdust, and cement dust which was the binder source. Samples III and IV were composed of only PKS and soaked wastepaper. In this group, the later though also flammable, was the binder source. A fifth sample (Sample V), common firewood from unidentified wood, was used as a control. Abstract: The objective of the present study is to evaluate the effect of food additives as aspartame (ASP) and monosodium glutamate (MSG) either individually or in combination on antioxidant parameters of adult male albino rats. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activitiesintheliverwere significantly increased in rats of the most treatedgroupsofthe tested food additives. Abstract: Medicinal plants are increasingly gaining acceptance even among the literates in urban settlements, probably due to the increasing inefficacy of many modern drugs used for the control of many infections such as typhoid fever, gonorrhea, and tuberculosis as well as increase in resistance by several bacteria to various antibiotics and the increasing cost of prescription drugs, for the maintenance of personal health. In this study, the phytochemical constituents of E. camaldulensis was determined. The result showed that theEucalyptus camaldulensisseeds contains tannins, steroids, saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids, volatile oil, Anthraquinone glycoside and glycoside compounds while there were a complete absence of cardiac glycoside and balsam. The result underlies the medicinal potentials of the plant as it could perform many antimicrobial functions
