Abstract: The potentials of jute (Corchoruscapsularisis) and scent leaf (Ocimumgratissimum)for phytoremediation of three designated metal-contaminated soilswere investigated. Co, Sr, Cr, Mn, Zn, Cu, Ti, Al and Fe were detected in all the soil samples with Fe, Al and Cu being most prominent prior to planting.Based on their uptake factors, the vegetables studied were classified as hyperaccumulators, hypoaccumulators and isoaccumulators where uptake factors were greater than one, less than one and equal to one respectively. The leafy vegetables studied were hypoaccumulators for the removal of cobalt (Co) from the contaminated soils, and were hyperaccumulators for selective removal of Al, Cu, Zn, Cr and Sr. Generally, phytoremediation potentials of these leafy vegetablesdepended on both the nature of the plants and the type of soil. However, blends of these vegetables as a phytoremediation kitwould be more effective than single vegetables for contaminated soil phytoremediation.

Abstract: An ethnozoological study of mammals, reptiles and birds was carried out in 11 surrounding villages of Gadabédji biosphere reserve. In this area, conservation actions must be reconciled with the use of biodiversity by local populations in order to satisfy some of their socio-cultural needs. Therefore, for the sustainable management of this biodiversity in general and that of wildlife in particular, it is important to improve knowledge of diversity, local knowledge and the usefulness of wildlife for local populations. Abstract: Background: It is a common practice in the some parts of Nigeria to boil rice with unshelled egg in the same medium basically for the purpose of convenience and conservation of cooking gas, hence, it is imperative to evaluate health safety of this cooking method. Food safety is a process of ensuring food meant for consumption is safe, suitable and wholesome. Adherence to food safety principles during harvesting, handling, storage, purchase, preparation, holding, and serving of food is imperative. This study was carried out to evaluate the safety of consuming rice cooked with unshelled egg in the same medium. Abstract: The study on the crowned crane (Balearica pavonina) in the Nigerien part of the Lake Chad basin was carried out for three months from February to April 2022. Its objective is to contribute to a better knowledge of the avifauna in general and to the crowned crane in particular. Abstract: Iworkiri is situated a few kilometers outside Bonny main town on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Fishing has been the most important activity around the Iworkiri coastal area for centuries and forms the biggest part of the Islands historical identity. Abstract: The objective of thisstudyis to investigate the effect of production area and extraction solvent on phenolic compounds (total polyphenols, flavonoids and tannins) of dried black plumseedfrom Côte d'Ivoire. Abstract: Bread wheat is one of the cereal crops produced in Sudan. It is most important crop by production and consumption. Improved varieties to wide range of agro-ecologies are more essential to enhance wheat productivity. Abstract: Résumé Lastructure et la diversité des macroinvertébrés benthiques ont été analysées de novembre 2018 à octobre 2019 dans 03 cours d'eau du bassin hydrographique de la Mefou. Les macroinvertébrés benthiques ont été échantillonnés selon une approche multi-habitat.
