Abstract: The policy prohibiting the use of disposable plastic bags in Somalia represents a governmental effort to mitigate plastic waste accumulation. The policy's effectiveness remains uncertain, as it is implemented solely in modern retail stores, whereas the primary source of plastic bag waste originates from traditional markets. This study seeks to assess consumer perceptions of government policies concerning the ban on disposable plastic bags in traditional markets, as well as their willingness to pay for each plastic bag utilised. Abstract: Background: In Africa, freshwater ecosystems are subject to increasing anthropogenic pressures that could potentially have an impact on water quality. In Côte d'Ivoire, in the district of Abidjan, it is estimated that the population will reach almost seven and a half million in the next fifteen years, leading to a rapid increase in water consumption. In order to meet the population's drinking water needs, the Aghien lagoon has been identified by the Ivorian authorities as a likely alternative source of drinking water. The aim of this study is to identify the factors that encourage the proliferation of cyanobacteria and to analyse the influence of the seasons on these factors.....

Abstract: This study looked into soil pollution resulting from oil palm production wastes in the oil palm production belts of Akwa-Ibom State. The study utilized the experimental research design. Soil samples were collect from both the POME impacted soils and the soils not impacted (control). These soil samples were sent to the laboratory for analysis. The Analysis of Variance test was used for data analysis. Data revealed differences in soil quality between the oil palm production sites and the control site. The content values of various parameters were higher than those recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), which is attributed to the unregulated introduction of palm oil mill effluents (POME).
