Title | : | Rural Consumers' Access to Credit and Role of Bank's Marketing in Rural Karnataka |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Sanjeev Ingalagi || Dr K.Rajeshkumar |
Abstract: The mobilization of rural consumers' potential savings to generate credit for inclusive lending to the rural/urban poor consumers in emerging markets presents a strategic challenge for policy makers. Large-scale credit aggregation can only be achieved by the use of modern banks. However, rural consumers may resist the use of banks as objects of nonlocal origin. The authors rely on the classic theory of demand aggregation advantage to critically analyze the public policy framework underpinning rural banking for the attainment of inclusive economic development goals of bottom-of the-pyramid markets. An empirical test of the framework in Karnataka's rural banking programs shows that demand aggregation advantage predicts consumer satisfaction with the inclusive lending practices of banking institutions among existing clients but not new clients. The study suggests that the public policy framework for promoting compliance with inclusive lending goals of rural banking programs in Karnataka does not adequately consider rural consumers' interpretation of demand aggregation activities.

Title | : | Loans to Small and Medium Enterprises in The Period 2009 to 2014: Was The Hand of Zimbabwean Commercial Banks Put To Profitable Use? |
Country | : | zimbabwe |
Authors | : | Clever Vutete || Itumeleng Magadi |
Abstract: With the government's efforts geared on the smooth implementation of the ZimAsset, the participation and capacitating of small to medium enterprises becomes an unavoidable policy prescription. The need to finance SMEs through government grants and private sector bank loans is critical. A proactive evaluation of how SMEs used the loans which they got from commercial banks in the dollarization era of 2009 to 2014 became imperative before giving them additional loans for the next phase of economic transformation. A study of 30 SMEs taken from various sectors was done to establish how they benefited on their operations, in capacity building and in meeting their overall business objectives. Recommendations on the need to upgrade loan utilisation were made basing on the research findings.

Authors | : | Rajab Mohammed Mzee || Kwama Leonard Ogweno || Nyakweba Irene |
Abstract:The existence of marketplaces in human society has a long history from before the Agora of Ancient Greece to the online trading places of the 21st century (McMillan 2002). Larger organizations, with their more extensive resources, are investing in E marketing to take advantage of the significant trading benefits, however, the electronic environment can be intimidating to many smaller firms and adoption of E marketing remains a mystery to many SMEs. This is contributed by a number of factors that range from decision marking, firm characteristic and environmental factors. This study analyzes factors influencing adoption of E marketing by SMEs in Kisumu Municipality. The study employed cross sectional descriptive research design. Data on Factors influencing adoption of E marketing by SMEs was collected through a survey questionnaire of 195 randomly selected SMEs in Kisumu Municipality.
