Abstract: CSR is an opportunity for anyone, who can make use of it, to create some creative and innovative products resulting from some productive activities. The involvement of all parties is seriously required to support and to totally change the image of CSR from the social assistance or charity to educative and productive programs which are able to motivate the community living around the company to give their positive responses. Although CSR forum has been established in the district levels, the role of government is still necessary and even should be much more optimized so that the companies realize that the government fully support the implementation of CSR programs.

Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | Dr. M. K Adebayo || Barr Bunu M. Abubakar || Dr. Zainab Gimba |
Abstract: Tax, simply is a charge imposed by governmental authority upon property, individual, or transaction, to raise money for public. Generally, tax is assessed in accordance with some reasonable rules of apportionment on persons or property within the tax jurisdiction. However, the benefits of contribution are not necessarily to be enjoyed contemporaneously or proportionately to contributions by individuals. Both the Personal Income Tax Law and the Companies Income Tax Act, exempt from taxes certain categories of individuals based on selected criteria and profits of companies engaged in certain public benefit activities such as ecclesiastical, educational or charitable, so long as the profits are not derived from trade or business undertaking. Profits of companies established to promote sporting activities are also exempted. The purport of this paper is to draw attention to the reawakening concept of tax reliefs and exemptions under Nigeria's current dispensation and tax policies. The aim is to clear some doubts and misgivings about the status scope, nature, and objectives of tax exemption concept.

Country | : | Bangladesh |
Authors | : | Naznin Huq || Suraiya Mahbuba |
Abstract:Every day when the city dwellers fall asleep after their day's work, a special segment of people starts their work. Be it a hot, humid day, a chilling winter, or the monsoon, these people have got no respite. They are the street cleaners who—in addition to the common problems in the avenues of right to work, right at work, and right through work facing the labor force in general—are subject to some special problems such as recruitment of labor from other religions specially from the Muslims1, restricted access to general civic amenities etc. Conventional wisdom suggests that the street cleaners generally live a super-inhuman life. The study deals with the rights and standard provisions of exclusively the street cleaners in the light of right to work, right at work, and right through work. Primary data were collected from the Mirpur area of the city of Dhaka. The study is unique in that it brings about new insights on the state of a very special segment of Bangladesh's working poor.

Authors | : | Mrs. Premakumari N || Dr. Satyaprasad B G |
Abstract: Retail comes from the Old French word tailer (compare modern French retailler), which means "to cut off, clip, pare, divide" in terms of tailoring (1365). It was first recorded as a noun with the meaning of a "sale in small quantities" in 1433 (from the Middle French retail, "piece cut off, Shred, scrap, paring").Like the French, the word retail in both Dutch and German (detailhandel and Einzelhandel, respectively) also refers to the sale of small quantities of items. Retail is the sale of goods and services from individuals or businesses to the end-user. Retailers are part of an integrated system called the supply chain..

Title | : | Development of E-Commerce in Nigeria: The Entrepreneurial Opportunities and Challenges |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | Okoye H.I. || Obi C.A. |
Abstract: In this era of digital global economy, e-commerce has become a veritable component of business outlet and strategy, as well as a strong catalyst for economic development. There is a synergy between e-commerce and entrepreneurship that drives it. Nigeria now prides herself as the Africa's biggest economy and so there is need to sensitize and encourage Nigerian entrepreneurs to embrace e-commerce as a viable business model. This paper explores the world of e-commerce; its development in Nigeria; the link with entrepreneurship and innovation; the available opportunities plus the associated challenges. Resultant recommendations proffered include that established Nigerian entrepreneurs should key into the e-commerce revolution to gain global competitive advantage. The Government on its own part should, in the short run, expand its IT and e-government policies to accommodate the establishment of subsidized cyber centers for start-ups and buyers who cannot afford the initial acquisition cost of Internet connectivity.

Title | : | Effect of Partner Management on Performance of a Strategic Alliance; a Case of Animal Welfare Action Kenya (AWAKE) |
Country | : | Kenya |
Authors | : | Samuel Macharia Theuri || Dr. Walter Bichanga Okibo |
Abstract: The research study sought to determine the effects of partner management on performance of a strategic alliance using Animal Welfare Action Kenya (AWAKE) as a case study. The study assumes that the deliberate actions that managers use to manipulate resources in their respective organisations through acts of planning, organizing, leading and control to achieve organisation goals affect performance of the alliance. Being an alliance that is not intended to fulfill financial objectives, respondent perception on satisfaction and goal achievement will be used to determine the alliance performance. The study was guided by four specific objectives that include; To determine the extent to which planning in partner organisations affect performance of a strategic alliance in AWAKE; To determine the extent to which organizing affect performance of a strategic alliance in AWAKE; To determine the extent to which leading in partner organisations affect performance of a strategic alliance in AWAKE and To determine the extent to which control in partner organisations affect performance of a strategic alliance in AWAKE. The study adopted a descriptive research design and makes use of primary data from questionnaire. To draw meaning and relationship between the variables, multivariate regression analysis on data collected is done and findings presented through tables and charts complemented by own interpretation.
