Abstract: In today's fast paced times, the increasing prevalence of work-life conflicts and increasing concern about work-life issues present both a challenge and opportunity for Human Resource (HR) professionals. Though work-life balance was initially construed as the concern for working mothers, now it has been recognized as a vital issue for all classes of employees. In Indian telecom industry characterized by long and odd working hours, heavy work pressures, demanding clients and pressing deadlines always brings stress for its employees.

Authors | : | Nwankwo, Clement, Okorie, Esther Nnenna |
Abstract: The study examines human capacity building and sustainable development in the 21st century, implications and challenges in Nigeria. Human capacity building is the bed-rock of any nation; no nation could strive to sustainable development without reference to the structures and policies that enhance its human capital. Nigeria as a nation has established several programs geared towards improving human capacity building, such programs includes NAPEP, NDE etc. These programs have not yielded the desired result because of inadequate policy platform that guarantee sustainability among the stakeholders. The study has provided measures towards ameliorating these inadequacies and urges the relevant stakeholders to consider the recommendations for policy design and implementation strategy in achieving human capacity building and sustainable development in the 21st century.

Country | : | Malaysia |
Authors | : | Ajayi Oziomobo Dada || Nifaosan Raden Ahmad || Zainab Bello |
Abstract: Corporate synergy often occurs sequentially to merger and acquisition of firms or harmonizing the organization's component strategic units for value adding creation. Hence, the sum total of individual units becomes larger than the total individual sum, i.e. 2 + 2 =5, in order to take advantages accruable from finance, market, revenue and other attendant benefits. On the other hand, strategy in the context of organizational behaviour refers to the overall scope and direction of the company that form pathway through which component parts work in harmony to achieve the envisage goals in pursuance of its corporate vision and mission. The synchronization of these management concepts becomes imperative in the contemporary complex economic activities and intense competitions.

Title | : | A Study on Customer Awareness towards Health Insurance With Special Reference to Coimbatore City |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Mrs.A.Priya || Dr. R.Srinivasan |
Abstract: Good Health confers on a person or groups' freedom from illness - and the ability to realize one's potential. Health is therefore best understood as the indispensable basis for defining a person's sense of well being. Health insurance is an insurance against the risk of incurring medical expenses among individuals. Health insurance remains vastly under-developed in India. Only 11% of population is presently covered with Health Insurance. Around 24% of all people hospitalized in India in a single year fall below the poverty line due to hospitalization (World Bank, 2002).

Title | : | Determinants of Preference towards Passenger Cars – The Case of Madurai City in Tamilnadu |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr.T.Rajasekar || Dr. S.Rameshkumar |
Abstract: India is the second fastest growing car market in the world. The Indian passenger car industry is made highly competitive because of the stiff competition between the domestic as well as foreign manufacturers. The survival and success in this competitive environment relies largely on the introduction of the innovative products or services with potential for need-fulfilment. The manufacturers or sellers must fully understand the factors which influence the consumers' choice towards a particular brand of car. In this context, the present paper attempts to identify and analyse the factors influencing the selection of a particular brand of car by the car owners in Madurai City.

Title | : | Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Indian Retail Sector |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Mahdi Naqdi Bahar |
Abstract: Indian retail industry is one of the sunrise sectors with huge growth potential which is expanding and modernizing rapidly. Indian retail is one of the most sought after sectors that carry great potential for attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) as foreign investors are extremely eager on charisma in Indian retail sector. In spite of the recent developments in retailing and its immense contribution to the economy, retailing continues to be the least evolved industries and the growth of organized retailing in India has been much slower as compared to rest of the world. Undoubtedly, this gloomy situation of the retail sector, despite the ongoing wave of incessant liberalization and globalization, stems from the absence of an FDI encouraging policy in the Indian retail sector.
