Title | : | Basic guidelines for bid/No bid decision making in the EPC projects |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Bhushan Ratekar || Vishal Girme || Dr. Balkrishna Narkhede |
Abstract: Construction companies must have the ability to deal with various bidding situations successfully in today’s highly competitive construction market, but focusing all energy & effort on bids which are unlikely to win is nothing but a waste of resources. It is observed that companies that have a more ad‐hoc approach to tendering are often bent on to pursue every bid that comes through the door. However, high-low price bid can have a negative impact of organization in this competitive environment. So it is necessary that construction organizations should be more selective when choosing projects that they bidding. The underlying fact is that contractors need to choose a potentially profitable project to bid for..........

Title | : | An Exploration of the Concept of Value in Higher Education |
Country | : | |
Authors | : | Dr. C. Shonhiwa || Prof. D. Ndudzo |
Abstract: The concept of "value" in education has emerged as a critical area of study by academics and administrators as higher education institutions seek self sustenance. The drive to pursue self sustenance by universities emanates from a decline at a global level in state funding for higher education and the increased competition in the higher education sector due to globalization. Survival and sustainability of higher education institutions therefore depend on the ability of the institutions to understand and create "value".

Title | : | The Use of Differentiation Strategy by Libraries to Gain Competitive Advantage |
Country | : | Zimbabwe |
Authors | : | Dr. Chipo Mutongi || Ms Kudzai Chiwanza |
Abstract: Some libraries would die a natural death if not working towards differentiation strategy to achieve competitive advantage. Differentiation strategy is one of Michael Eugene Porter's business management strategies, he formulated after observing that organisations, nations, states and regions can survive in business competition by either lowering the cost, differentiate products and service or focusing on a certain segment. This article focuses on the differentiation strategy and how libraries can embrace it to gain competitive advantage.
