Title | : | Who put the cult in culture? |
Country | : | United Kingdom |
Authors | : | Dr Daniel Doherty Fhea Fcipd Frsa M.Ed Phd |
Abstract: This paper subjects the management blockbuster 'Built to Last' (collins & Porras 1992) to paradigmic analysis through the medium of the Burrell & Morgan (1979) framework. The interest is to explore the extent to which such a popular text could equally appeal to both populist and evidence-based business academic audiences, and to explore how the authors' have engineered this dual appeal. The authors are explicit as to the research aims and research design underlying their inquiry, and are not reticent in making claims for the intellectual robustness and practical transferability of findings derived from their innovative research approach. This clarity of research purpose greatly facilitates the process of assessing the extent to which the authors satisfy their own criteria - an assessment which the authors themselves challenge the reader to engage with in their opening 'methods' chapter.

Title | : | Effect of Credit and Training Facilitation on Financial Control Practices in Women-Owned Enterprises in Nakuru County |
Country | : | Kenya |
Authors | : | Chebet Joan Kirui |
Abstract: Women entrepreneurship could be an effective strategy for poverty reduction. However, women entrepreneurs, especially in developing countries, have limited access to loans for their entrepreneurial ventures and, as such, have low business performance than their male counterparts, whereas the rate of their participation in the informal sector of the economy is higher than males, and microfinance could have positive effect on enterprise performance. More often than not, small businesses fail to keep good records of their financial transactions, and this may limit their access to credit interventions by their financial partners. Consequently, microfinance institutions have been providing assistance to women entrepreneurs in the form of training and credit for their businesses............
