Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of Inquiry-Based Science Teaching Approach on learners' motivation of secondary school physics students in Kitui County, Kenya. The study was anchored on both the Constructivist and the Self-Determination Theory. The methodology that was adapted was mixed methodology and a Quasi Experimental Research Design and in particular the Solomon's Four Non-Equivalent Control Group Research Design. The target population of the study was 1600 form four Physics students from 40 Extra-County secondary schools in Kitui County. Stratified random sampling was used to select four Extra-County schools (2 Girls and 2 Boys).......

The study was approached from the positivist paradigm, using a descriptive cross-sectional survey design where a quantitative data were collected from 304 academic staff using an adapted closed ended questionnaire. Data were analyzed with the use of descriptive statistics and a multiple regression analysis technique. Study findings revealed that: first, task autonomy was the most important......

Abstract: There is an ongoing concern of rural versus township versus uptown learners achieving different levels of academic success. For this regard, a quasi-experiment was carried out on three Senior Secondary School classes in the Buffalo City Metro education district. A quantitative approach, pretest~post-test on mathematical achievement design was adopted. To analyse data, a two-way ANOVA was run on a sample of 297 participants to examine the effects of teaching strategy (traditional versus cooperative) and the location of schools (uptown vs township vs rural) on learner performance (scores). The findings revealed that there was significant interaction between the effects......
