Abstract: Girls are discriminated against in Nigeria in access to educational opportunity, food and nutrition. Girls carry the burden of housework, Anyanwu, (1995) The girl child is vulnerable in that she is susceptible to attack from many angles, in the home, school, church, among groups, anywhere at all. With negative Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth recorded for the fifth consecutive quarters, Nigeria's economy is mired in recession, according to newly published data by National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). May 23, 2017. Due to the economic recession, inflation and unemployment have been on the increase, and as a result, some parents send their girl children as domestic servants either to relatives or non-relatives. Calabar, due to its metropolitan stand, attracts a lot of people from rural areas to come and seek "better lives", and parents give out their........

Abstract: This study aims at investigating the productive knowledge of "adjective-noun" collocations by Moroccan EFL students from seven universities in Morocco. To this end, a productive collocation test addressing 25 adjective-noun collocations administered to four hundred and sixty four BA students. This test is meant to measure these students' productive collocational competence. These participants were required to fill in the blanks with the most appropriate adjectives. Results revealed that these Moroccan students have considerable problems in this aspect of language. They used erroneous combinations yielding weird phrases such as: *make homework, *do decision …etc. The use of such inappropriate collocations leads to communication breakdown..

Abstract: The study investigated how the Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (PUTME) predicts students' final degree results using Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State as a case study. The study adopted the descriptive and correlational research design using a sample of 389 students from five departments gotten through cluster and purposive sampling techniques. Data for the study was gotten through the use of archival information, which were subsequently analyzed using simple linear regression coefficient for the research questions and ANOVA associated with linear regression for the hypotheses. Result revealed that with the exception of students in microbiology, PUTME was a poor predictor of students' final academic performance in the other four departments investigated. It was therefore recommended that students should be admitted through various methods such as departmental interview and only those who are meritorious should be given admission as against the use of catchment area and educationally less developed states.

Abstract: According to the new diagnostic criteria of DSM – 5 by the American Psychiatric association, the term "Autism Spectrum Disorder" refers to a group of symptoms that entail difficulties in social interaction, communication and repeated stereotypical behavior and interests (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). ASD was divided into three levels according to the severity of the case. People who need support and have difficulties in communication and socialization belong to level one. Level two includes people who need substantial support and face serious difficulties while level three includes people who require very substantial support and have grave difficulties in socialization and flexibility (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). People with a developmental disorder, like autism spectrum disorder, have a deficit in their motor and social skills. The main difficulties that these people experience, regarding their motor skills, are in skillfulness, balance, and motor coordination. Due to their clumsiness and their lack of social interaction, people with autism spectrum disorder heavily depend on their............
