Abstract: Daily activities within our abattoirs are usually associated with some pollution problems especially when generated wastes are not properly disposed. The present study examines the groundwater quality around abattoirs in Keffi, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Well-water samples from nine different locations were obtained. The study area was divided into three (3) zones viz; no abattoir area, central abattoir area and mini abattoir area respectively. The results from field and laboratory analysis showed that the samples from abattoir areas have higher concentrations of many of the parameters tested than those away from any abattoir.
