Abstract: Background: Municipal solid waste landfills are said to be the most accepted method of solid waste disposal in the world, this is because its cheaper to manage as compared to other waste disposals. Countries worldwide face an ongoing challenge with solid waste with over two billion tons of Municipal Solid Waste produced every year. This has become a burden to the management of waste at the landfill. Objective: To examine the impacts of municipal solid waste management landfills where it looked at the environmental and health impacts of landfills.
