Abstract: Plectranthus vettiveroides (K. C. Jacob) N. P. Singh & B. D. Sharma is an endemic to South Indian aromatic medicinal plant which is at present extinct in the wild and cultivated only in Kollidam in Cuddallore district, Tamil Nadu by few farmers as part of fulfilling their religious customs and belief. It's root extract has been used as a single or an ingredient in more than 75 herbal drugs which are marketed by leading manufactures in all over the world. But when commensurate with its production it is obvious that the drug manufactures are using substitute or adulterants......

Abstract: Sterculia foetida (S. foetida) is a tall tree located in India, Malaysiaand North East Australia. Decoction of bark in folklore medicine was used for the treatment of dropsy and rheumatism. The main focus of this work was to evaluate in-vitro anti-inflammatory activity of methanolic extract of sterculia foetida (MESF) bark using Human Red Blood Cell(HRBC) membrane stabilization technique. In this study Diclofenac sodium was used as standard drug at a conc......

Title | : | Validation of Russell's Viper Venom Detoxification Activity of Azadirachta indica through In Silico Method |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Deepa V. || S. Sreekumar and C. K. Biju |
Abstract: Azadirachta indica A. Juss. (neem) is one of the Indian medicinal plants used as antidote to snake venom particularly against viper envenomation. In the present study 335 phytochemicals reported from Azadirachta indica were docked with Daboia russelii venom proteins, basic phospholipase A2 VRV-PL-VIIIa (PDB id 1OXL) and class II anticoagulant phospholipase A2 (PDB id 1VIP) using the tool AutoDock 4.2. To avoid error in lead identification, the top ranked hit molecules (ΔGbind<-10 kcal/mol) were docked using different docking tools such as SwissDock, PatchDock, iGemDock and Hex......

Title | : | Congenital Chloride Diarrhoea |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Nandita Basak |
Abstract: Congenital chloride losing diarrhea (CLD) is a medical emergency case in pediatrics. It is a rare genetic disorder caused due to mutation of chromosome 7.It is commonly seen in Saudi Arabic countries ,It is seen in early neonates with features of absence of meconium,"urine like diarrhea" ,antennal finding shows hydraminous child in fetus ,fecal chloride concentration is more than 90mmol/l. The main treatment for CLD is continuous lifelong replacement of faecal loss water ,NaCl and KCl by salt substitution therapy, use of proton pump inhibitor etc ,with early diagnosis long term outcome is favourable .

Authors | : | Walter, Jackson L || Govan, Richard D || Huang, Yisong || Linder Daniel F || Gato, Worlanyo E |
Abstract: The effect of 2-aminothracene (2AA) ingestion in Fisher-344 rats was examined. Protein expression was examined via bulk proteins isolated from the liver and analyzed on a mass spectrometry. 2AA is an aromatic amine that can be classified as a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH). 2AA is used in the manufacture of chemicals, dyes, inks, and it is also a curing agent in epoxy resins and polyurethanes. 2AA has also been found in tobacco smoke and cooked foods.......
