Abstract: Education plays a crucial role in the development of individuals and societies. Since education is governed by its socio-cultural contexts, the purpose of education has been considered from different perspectives over time, space and cultures. However, a common thread which emerges on the analysis of the purpose of education propounded by educationists and reformers from all over the world is that education is for the harmonious development of mind, body and soul of the learner. It is critical for development of the innate capacities and competencies of the learner for living a more fulfilling life, and for a positive contribution to the society. The competencies to empower learners to achieve this are life skills, defined as' a group of psychosocial and interpersonal skills which can help people make informed decisions, solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate effectively.......

Abstract: Positive face threatening acts impinge upon positive face desires of interlocutors. These acts threaten hearer's desire to be liked when a speaker does not care about his/her interactant's feelings/wants or does not want what the other wants. In conversations, interlocutors try to protect their positive public image and want to be seen as valuable members of the society. Politeness strategies are utilized by interlocutors in order to reduce the effects of face threats to interacting parties. This paper concentrated on the speeches of selected Members of Kenya's 12th National Assembly in parliament context in order to find out the positive face threatening acts that they use. Abstract: This study was aimed at developing multicultural reading tasks for the eighth grade students of MTs. GUPPI Kresnomulyo, Ambarawa, Pringsewu, Lampung Indonesia. Abstract: Background: In Thai Nguyen University, students are facing two problems when they learn English. First, university students continue to make some basic errors in pronunciation, spelling, morphology and syntax. Second, they are unable to express themselves confidently and efficiently either when dealing with 'academic topics' or 'common everyday topics'. The students' major difficulty arises from the fact that they cannot use English correctly and appropriately out the classroom when required to do so. Abstract: The Industrial Revolution 4.0 affects not only the science and economic but also education, especially English language learning. With the popularity of the Internet and the advent of social networks, language learning has changed dramatically. Although, educators and learners are pushing learning beyond the limits of the classroom through social networking yet, also brings some obstacles.
