Abstract: In most secondary schools, the conventional approaches to learning are exclusively used for science education, though with mixed results. These conventional learning approaches do not arouse the learner's interest in science or improve learners' cognitive development. The rise in new pedagogical approaches has seen the adoption of flipped learning approaches take a focal point in improving cognitive development and achievement outcomes in science education in secondary schools and university levels alike. Abstract: Cybergogy is the online engagement of the educator and the educand. Both require prerequisites for successful engagement and the achievement of learning objectives with minimal wastage. Issues of low internet connectivity, lack of electric power, lack of funds to buy bundle to access the internet are common phenomena that the paper addresses critically and proposes that those responsible for the prerequisites arecompelled, through activism in a democratic society, to take up their responsibilities. The paper contends that success in education in a democratic society is premised on the individuals who have been mandated to lead and show direction. When leaders are inept then activism can be applied to impel them into action. More research is needed on the catalytic role of leaders in cybergogy.

Abstract: Most secondary schools in Kiambu County are grappling with low achievement motivation for learning chemistry as evidenced by below average performance in the subject among majority of the students. There is limited research evidence on the predictors of achievement motivation for learning chemistry in this area that may be used to address this issue. This research was carried to examine the relationship between executive functioning and achievement motivation for learning chemistry among secondary school students. The study was informed by information processing theory by Siegler and achievement motivation theory by McClelland. The researcher used convergent parallel mixed research design to examine the relationship between the study variables. The target population was 10528 form three students taking chemistry in 284 public secondary schools in Kiambu County in the year 2020........

Abstract: Background: The Economic Stimulus Pragramme (ESP) is an intervention that aimed at mitigating challenges encountered in the Kenyan education through increased enrolment after the introduction of free primary Education and Free Day Secondary education. Increased, enrolment against the available teachers, digital gap between the Kenyan economy and the labour market requirements. Abstract: It is a fact that many students find reading comprehension one of the most challenges when they learn a foreign language. This study attempts to investigate the demotivating factors in reading comprehension that learners at a high school may have. The study carried out among 85grade 11thstudents at a high school in Thai Nguyen. The main instrument employed for the data collection was questionnaires for both teachers and students. To identity the students' problems with vocabulary retention, a questionnaire or otherwised called Vocabulary Knowledge Scale (VKS) was administered to the students who were studying English as a compulsory minor subject. Abstract: Background: The careers in STEM discipline are influenced largely by attitudinal component,which in turndetermines the achievementoutcomes. In Kenya, the performance in Biology subject in KCSE averages 55% and this has been attributed to the students' negative attitude towards science subjects. Thus, these performance level call for a review of the affective characteristics of the students. Extant literature revealed thatthe integration and use of ICT in teaching is postulated to lead to a rise in positive attitudes. Despite the increasing adoption of ICT in science education in schools in Kenya, evidence to support the application of collaborative mindtools in teaching and learning is limited and inconclusive. Abstract: Teacher education programmes in Africa have followed the same approaches adopted since the countries got their independence. Two models—consecutive/serial and concurrent—of teacher education have been adopted at the higher education level. Instruction has primarily been face-to-face interaction through either pre-service or in-service approaches.
