Abstract: Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) is the most common nutritional deficiency in pregnancy. Prophylactic oral iron is recommended during pregnancy to meet the increased requirement. In India, women become pregnant with low baseline haemoglobin levels resulting in high incidence of moderate to severe anaemia in pregnancy, where oral iron therapy cannot meet the requirement. Pregnant women with anaemia are to be treated with parenteral iron therapy. An Observational Prospective study was conducted to evaluate the safety and efficacy of IV Iron Sucrose therapy in the treatment of Iron Deficiency Anaemia. In this study two hundred pregnant women with.........

Abstract: Problems of swallowing and provides a quicker onset of action overcomes by fast dissolving tablets constitute an innovative excipients. The bioavailability of some drugs may be increased due to absorption of drugs in oral cavity. Fast dissolving tablets of Furosemide, prepared by sublimation method using camphor as subliming agent and croscarmellose sodium, sodium starch glycolate and cross povidone as a super disintegrates by direct compression method. FTIR Spectroscopy was carried out to determine the suitability of superdisintegrates with the drug. The prepared fast dissolving tablets of Furosemide, were evaluated for post compression parameters. Optimum formulation of Croscarmellose sodium S3 showed disintegration time of 9 seconds and 97.07% of drug release..

Abstract: Ideal ophthalmic drug delivery is one of the most interesting and challenging problem facing the pharmaceutical companies in the market .and the major problem associated with the conventional dosage forms is the bioavailability of drug. The Poor bioavailability of ophthalmic solutions caused by dilution and drainage from the eye can be overcome by using in-situ-forming ophthalmic drug delivery systems. To overcome these problems various types of dosage forms such as nanoparticles, liposomes and microemulsions have been developed.Controlleddrugdelivery systems offer many advantages overconventionaldosage forms interms of improving drug bioavailability, reducing toxicity and decreasing.......

Abstract: The lung has served as a route of drug administration for thousands of year. Now a day's pulmonary drug delivery remains the preferred route for administration of various drugs. Pulmonary route have been used to treat various respiratory diseases for centuries. Ancient inhalation therapies included the use of leaves from plants vapors from aromatic plant, balsam and myrrh. The pulmonary route has gained increasing importance in the recent time due to its unique properties such as a large absorptive area of up to 100m2; extremely thin 0.1μm to 0.2μm absorptive mucosal membrane and good blood supply. Pulmonary drug delivery is an important research area which impacts the.........

Abstract: Although dacarbazine is the gold therapy for melanoma, its systemic use is usually associated with many limitations. These include poor aqueous solubility, short half-life and toxicity. Herein, we explored the potential of lipid nanocapsule (LNC) based hydrogel as an efficient nanocarrier for transdermal delivery of dacarbazine. The proposed system was fabricated in two consecutive steps firstly, dacarbazine LNC was prepared using labrafac and solutol HS15 in different ratios and characterized regarding the particle size, zeta, entrapment efficiency(EE %) and morphological......

Abstract: Background information:The normal morphogenesis of maternal body has been shown to be disrupted by the prenatal exposure to dexamethasone when used during pregnancy, however the specific effects of varied doses of dexamethasone on various organs at different gestion period have not been refined. Such perturbation has been shown to interfere with the normal structural and metabolic function such a in secretion of digestive juices as well as control of the glucose metabolism, neurobehavior abnormalities and gross impairments of functional organs such as pancreas, kidneys, skeletal muscles, adrenal gland, thymus gland, spleen and adipose tissue. Corticosteroids also have........

Abstract: In recent years, the search for biologically active compounds from Euphorbia heterophylla in the treatment of different diseases has always been of great interest to researchers. In this present study, we investigated the effect of the aqueous leaf and stem extract of euphorbia heterophylla. Phytochemical studies revealed the presence of tannins, anthraquinones, alkaloids, flavonoids and phenols in hexane, acetone and water extracts containing only phenol. The plant extracts demonstrated antimicrobial activity against both the test bacteria and fungi with water extract demonstrating the highest activity followed by the acetone extract. The plant has been presented for further isolation, identification and purification of these phyto-constituents. The result of the study showed that the crude plant material contained some secondary metabolites such as saponins, flavonoids and tannins. The phytochemical.........

Abstract: Bidens pilosa is a representative perennial herb, globally distributed across temperate and tropical regions. B. pilosa has been traditionally used in foods and medicines without obvious adverse effects. Despite significant progress in phytochemical and biological analyses of B. pilosa over the past few years, comprehensive and critical reviews of this plant are anachronistic or relatively limited in scope. The present review aims to summarize up-to-date information on the phytochemistry, pharmacology, and toxicology of B. pilosa from the literature. B. pilosa is a major crop weed, threat to native fauna, and a physical nuisance. It is considered one of the most noxious........
