Abstract: Hepatoprotective activities of methanol extract of Hibiscus sabdariffa L. on paracetamol induced hepatotoxicity of albino rat were investigated. A total of 20 albino rats were divided into four groups (I - IV), five rats per group. Group I and II served as the test groups, groups III as positive control, and IV as negative control. Groups I and II were treated with 250 and 500mg/kg body weight respectively of the extract for eight days after induction of hepatotoxicity while group III was treated with a standard drug (Livolin, 25mg/kg body weight) for eight days; the negative control was given distilled water. Blood samples were obtained from the rat to determine the serum levels of aspartate.........

Abstract: Rice straw (RS) is one of the main agriculture residues in Egypt. So, this study was performed on rice straw as a resource for production of bioethanol. Fermenting agricultural biomass, such as rice straw to ethanol is a promising solution to an ongoing waste problem. However, the biomass must first be pretreated to break down lignin, thereby increasing accessibility of the substrate to fermentative organisms. Biological pretreatment by microorganisms represents a potentially economic strategy to prepare the biomass for fermentation. In a series of laboratory experiments, rice straw was pretreated with sodium hydroxide, sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide in single and combination treatments ........

Abstract: To develop accurate, fast, simple and precise reversed-phase high-pressure liquid chromatography method for simultaneous determination of the binary mixture of glimepiride and pioglitazone HCl in Glimepiride plus 4 mg/30 mg tablets. The chromatographic separation was conducted on Agilent 1200 with DA detector using Luna C18 (150mm x 4.6mm; 5-μm) as stationary phase. Isocratic mobile phase consisted of Phosphate Buffer pH 3.0 : Acetonitrile in ratio (45:55 v/v); The buffer solution is composed of 6.8 gm of potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate in 900 ml adjust pH to 3.0 by ortho-phosphoric acid then complete to 1000 ml by water and filtered through 0.45 μm nylon membrane filter. The flow rate of 1.0 ml min-1 was used. An injection volume of 20 μL......

Abstract: Phytoplankton is an important component of aquatic flora and have key role to maintain productivity of any aquatic ecosystems. It also maintains equilibrium between biotic and abiotic component of the aquatic ecosystem. Asolamendha Lake is one of the major lake present in Chandrapur district in the eastern part of Maharashtra state of India. The present study was undertaken to study the seasonal population and diversity of phytoplankton from Asolamendha lake during June 2010 to May 2012. Total 28 species of phytoplankton belongs to Chlorophyceae , Bacillariophyceae, Myxophyceae and Euglenophyceae were identified from this lentic ecosystem among which Chlorophyceae is the dominant species in all.

Abstract: Resulting from antisickling properties of the three medicinal plants and their polyherbal extracts, this study therefore assessed their analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities in mice and rats since sickle cell disorder symptoms are characterized by painful crises with remarkable inflammatory reactions. In this present study, the analgesic potential of ethanol leaf extracts of Piper. guineense (P), Gongronema latifolium (G), Cymbopogon citratus (C) and their polyherbal combination (PGC) was centered on the hot plate; tail immersion, analgesiometer, and acetic acid induced writhing assays. Carrageenan-induced paw oedema in animal models was used for the anti-inflammatory assay. The extracts exerted central and peripheral acting mode of action with highest protective potentials at 250 mg/kg (hot plate), 500 mg/kg (both tail immersion and analgesiometer) and dose-dependent......

Abstract: The continuous rise in the prevalence of obesity around the world has been linked to dietary behaviours. But there have also views on how female labour participation and their income levels affect the prevalence of obesity among women, which vary across countries. The relationship between female labour force participation and income level against the prevalence of obesity among female is not straight forward in Nigeria, like many developing countries, especially as economic frameworks are not consistent. This research examines the role of income level, female labour participation rate and female-male labour participation ratio on the prevalence of female obesity in Nigeria, using historical data (1990-2016) analysed using the ordinary least squares (OLS) method. While.......

Abstract: Plant-related microorganisms assume a significant part in farming creation. Albeit different examinations have shown that solitary microorganisms can apply useful impacts on plants, it is progressively apparent that when a microbial consortium—at least two communicating microorganisms—is included, added substance or synergistic outcomes can be anticipated. This happens, to a limited extent, because of the way that different species can play out an assortment of errands in an environment like the rhizosphere. Thus, the helpful components of plant growth incitement (i.e., upgraded supplement accessibility, phytohormone tweak, biocontrol, biotic and abiotic stress resistance) applied by various microbial players inside the rhizosphere, for example, plant-growth-promoting microscopic organisms (PGPB) and parasites......
