Title | : | Applying Linear Programming Method in Six Sigma Approach to Develop a Truck Planning Tool – A Case Study |
Country | : | U.S.A |
Authors | : | Yanhui Huang || David Ding |
Abstract: Six Sigma is a tool for business to achieve continuous improvement. The benefits of implementing Six Sigma projects include cost reduction and productivity improvement. Six Sigma uses the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) methodology to solve problems. In this study, the linear programming approach was used in the improve and control phases of a Six Sigma project to find a truck scheduling tool for ABC Transportation Companyto reduce their shipping cost. The key cost variables and their probability distributions were identified in the analyze phase. The study results showed that the new truck scheduling tool would reduce the shipping cost significantly.

Country | : | INDIA |
Authors | : | Raju Roy || Dr. Debomalya Ghose |
Abstract: It is reported by reputed bodies of information that now-a-days integrating management systems are becoming a viable subject. The facilities that integrate the environmental management system (EMS) and quality management system (QMS) can comprehend benefits like decrease in audit costs, streamlined operations, proper decision-making, easy employee training and efficient use of resources. The other management systems like occupation health and safety management (OHSAS 18001) and other organizational activities can be similarly integrated..............

Title | : | Strategy in A Digitally Disrupted Environment |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Sean Stein Smith |
Abstract: Strategy and strategic planning are essential for the long-term success of organizations, regardless of industry, or whether the organization is profit driven or mission oriented. Charting the course for the organization requires a broad base of inputs sources as well as incorporating the needs of end users within the decision making process. Planning for the long-term, however, is critically dependent on the following reality. All organizations must produce more resources through operational activities than are consumed by those same operational activities. If this situation fails to occur, the entity will not remain in business for long. Stated differently, in order to successfully plan and execute long term strategies at an organizational level, it is imperative that management professionals implement and execute short-term objectives consistently............
