Authors | : | Ms. Shivi Saxena || Dr. Poonam Madan |
Abstract: No industry faces the same unique recruiting challenges as the retail market. Between the large volume of hires, almost constant turnover, seasonal work, etc., the retail industry, perhaps more than any other industry, is in need of a more efficient hiring process. Today, it's more important than ever for employers to have strategies to counter with such challenges within their organizations. Most employers are aware that talent is no longer available on demand, and that talent acquisition strategies require a forward-thinking approach. It's also important to have talent strategies that prepare your company for future hiring requirements. While hiring needs change, companies and industries can generally determine the ebbs and flows of talent needs within their organizations to build a sustainable competitive workforce..........

Authors | : | Akinbode S.O || J.E Ekpudu || O.T Ojo || A.O Are |
Abstract: Internet is changing the way consumers purchase and has become a global phenomenon. There is limited knowledge about consumer behavior online in Nigeria despite roles internet retailing can play in the government's "Cashless Policy". The study assessed consumers' patronage of internet market based on data from 350 randomly selected individuals. About 25% of the respondents have purchased items online before. Reasons for patronizing online retail shops included convenience and timeliness, while reasons given for not patronizing included account security, fraud, overpayments, quality differences between displayed and delivered products etc. About 1.2% have returned products to e-retailers while 1.4% had purchased on impulse. Items purchased included mobile phones, computers, air tickets e.t.c. The Logit regression revealed that age (p<0.05), income (p<0.05), education (p<0.01), risk (p<0.05) and time saving perceptions (p<0.01) significantly influenced online purchasing. The study recommended that consumers' education/enlightenment be improved while policies that secure transactions are formulated and implemented.

Title | : | Post-Recessionary Stock Behavior |
Country | : | India. |
Authors | : | Dr.V.Pankunni |
Abstract: In this paper the recessionary impact on the behavior of equity is studied under the Indian context. The study is based on the BSE Sensex 30 over 16 years from 2000 to 2015. In the study it is found that mean returns are lower than the pre-recessionary period. Though the stock prices have regained the level of pre-recessionary period the mean returns are still very low in the post-recessionary period. The returns have high volatility clustering and heteroscedasticty. Based on the GARCH (1, 1) model, evidences are found for the existence of high Volatility persistence in India. Equity returns for the post-recessionary period is not normally distributed. Likewise, it is also found that the returns are serially correlated. The severity of recession in Indian stock market is found only for a short span of time i.e. between Dec. 2007 and Mar.2009
