Abstract: We present a prospective population based study of 100 cases presenting at the retina clinic of Western Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Ahmedabad during a study period of 1 year. This study describes the pattern of Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA) findings in Patients of Age related macular degeneration (ARMD) and compares it with studies done elsewhere. This study also substantiates using FFA as a main modality for diagnosing ARMD in resource poor setting.
Key Word: Age related macular degeneration, Choroidal neovascularisation, Fundus fluorescein angiography.

Abstract: Intrauterine insemination is a widely used treatment of infertility, we present data of 120 couples undergoing 250 cycles of iui,all couple underwent infertility evaluation prior to the treatment.women with normal ovulatory cycles did not receive any hormonal treatment, monitoring of ovulation was done by ultrasound.the mean number of iui per patient was 2.12,pregnancy rate per cycle in women age group of 30-34 is 10.7%, in age group of 35-39 is 9.2% and in age group above 40 years is 4.2%.

Abstract: Guillain-Barre Syndrome is an important cause of acute flaccid paralysis globally, with annual incidence of 1.3-2/1 lakh. Typical clinical features include progressive, symmetrical muscle weakness associated with absent or depressed deep tendon refluxes. Weakness may range from mild weakness to complete paralysis, needing ventilator support. GBS can be diagnosed by established clinical criteria, CSF studies and electrophysiological studies. Objectives: It is a cross sectional record based study using the copies of discharge cards of GBS patients in Neurology department from Aug 2017 to July 2020........

Abstract: Anaesthetic management of 21 year old mentally retarded female diagnosed case of Hallerman-Steriff syndrome presented in this case. Anaesthesia was challenging because of difficult airway (mandibular hypoplasia and microstomia) and associated intellectual disability. Ventilation could be achieved using paediatric mask. Intubation was done in second attempt with help of bougie as there was lesser space in oral cavity for tube negotiation. Till now very few cases reported in medical world of this syndrome with unknown genetic inheritance.

Abstract: Eosinophils are type of blood cells whose number varies from 350- 500/ cubic microliter. Any abnormality in eosinophil count is usually detected on a complete blood count (CBC). Alternatively, the eosinophil count may be recorded as a percentage of total white blood cell (leukocyte) count, along with other white blood cells like neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes and basophils. Eosinophilia is abnormally high number of eosinophils in the blood. Eosinophilia may be primary or secondary. The aim of the study was to determine the incidence of eosinophilia and evaluate the patients thoroughly for the cause of eosinophilia...........

Abstract: Tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-1 (TIMP-1)is involved in extracellular matrix remodeling whichis considered to be a marker of regulation of matrix metalloproteinase activity. Methods– An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay prior to a radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFA) procedure was used for measuring the serum level of TIMP-1 in 210 patients: 80 patients without history of atrial fibrillation (AF) and 80 patients with idiopathic AF (paroxysmal AF – 30, persistent AF – 32, long-standing AF – 35 and permanent AF – 33). Their relationship with intraoperative efficacy and recurrence of AF was evaluated throughout the observation period........

Abstract: Aim- To study Correlation between hand grip strength and functional mobility in elderly patients Background-. Low muscle strength is normal and significant in geriatric syndromes including frailty and sarcopenia. Therefore, early estimation of actual execution in the old is necessary. Hand grip strength can be measured to evaluate hand muscle strength, while the timed up-and-go test (TUGT) is used to assess functional mobility Material & Method- Study was done on 50 elderly pateints at Panchsheel Orthopedic centre, Kangra from august to October 2021. Hand grip strength was measured using the Jamar dynamometer.Functional mobility measurement bytimed up-and-go test (TUGT) The outcomes were investigated utilizing SPSS rendition 20. Hand grip strength and functional mobility data were each analyzed univariantly with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to determine data distribution...........

Abstract: Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVM) are rare pulmonary vascular anomalies resulting from abnormal communications between second order branches of pulmonary artery and veins with or without intervening nidus. Although most patients are asymptomatic, PAVMs can cause dyspnoea from right-to-left shunt. Because of paradoxical emboli, various central nervous system complications have been described including stroke and brain abscess. There is a strong association between PAVM and hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia. Chest radiography and contrast enhanced computed tomographies are essential initial diagnostic tools but pulmonary angiography is the gold standard...........

Abstract: Bilateral internal iliac artery occlusion is a procedure performed by the interventional radiologist in the cardiac catheterization laboratory (Cath lab). Parturients with abnormal placentation (placenta accreta, increta, percreta, and a few types of placenta previa) are candidates who can benefit with this intervention. Bilateral femoral arteries are punctured under local anaesthesia, and balloon-tipped catheters are placed in bilateral internal iliac arteries under minimal fluoroscopic guidance after placing lead shield over the parturient to prevent radiation exposure to the fetus. The parturient is then anesthetized in the operation theater. The balloons are inflated manually once the umbilical cord is clamped by the obstetrician during lower segment caesarean section........

Abstract: Background: Several tertiary centers in Nigeria adopted routine laparoscopic practice only within the last decade, lagging behind the rest of the world. In BSUTH Makurdi, operative laparoscopy was introduced in the performance of cholecystectomy barely two years ago. We sought to determine the preference of patients electively scheduled for cholecystectomy, between the traditional open approach and the recently-introduced minimal access technique, and outcomes following the procedures.........

Abstract: Breast cancer is the most common cause of cancer death in women and an overall fifth common cause of cancer deaths. Triple assessment of clinical examination, breast imaging and needle biopsy remain the mainstay of a breast cancer diagnosis. Mammography helps in evaluation of density, margins, calcification and distortion of architecture, whereas USG plays a key role in differentiating cystic and solid masses. This study assessed palpable breast lesions using mammography and ultrasound and compared them with histopathological results. A cross-sectional study was conducted at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital.......
