Abstract: Introduction Computerized tomographic imaging of the skull base region has become a vital tool for the explorative surgery. The middle cranial fossa is an important area of the skull base with vital neurovascular structures passing through the foramina. Direct and CT anatomical measurements of foramina were compared to assess the accuracy of the osseous structures. Methods An observational retrospective.....

Abstract: Ocular toxoplasmosis can cause potentially blinding necrotizing retinitis with a progressive and relapsing course. It is the most common cause of posterior uveitis worldwide, and usually presents as a localized retinochoroidal lesion. Despite its high incidence, ocular infection with toxoplasmosis tends to be subclinical and goes unnoticed until it is too late. To highlight this blinding disease and to emphasize the importance of preventive measures to avoid grave visual disability, we report this case of a middle aged gentleman with a history of toxoplasmal retinitis 6 years ago with acute onset blurring of vision and floaters. The best-corrected vision for the affected eye was.....

Abstract: Background: The term bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) denotes any anatomical or functional failure of the bladder to empty itself due to obstruction at its outlet . Bladder outlet obstruction is a common cause of lower urinary tract symptoms in men and women. BOO results from a variety of etiologies, which may be functional or anatomic. (eg: bladder stone, benign or malignant prostate enlargement, phimosis, meatal stenosis, urethral stricture, urinary bladder neoplasm or intravesicaluretrocele which involve bladder neck or bladder outlet, impacted stone in urethra, bladder neck stenosis, neurogenic bladder etc.) BOO often produces lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS.....

Abstract: Background: Urolithiasis is a global problem whose incidence is increasing day by day. Urolithiasis is described by the condition of formation or occurrence of calculi in the urinary tract. The epidemiology of urolithiasis varies in accordance with geography, socioeconomic status, and diet. . Most of the cases are diagnosed by primary care physicians rather than urologists because of increased prevalence of urolithiasis and saturation of health facilities. Therefore, primary care physicians play a major role in the diagnosis, management, referral to specialist, and follow....

Abstract: Background: The purpose of this study is to estimate the burden of breast cancer and to study the clinico-epidemilogical profile of breast cancer in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Materials and Methods: Our study included all hospital admissions due to breast cancer over a period of three years 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23. The total study participants were 94 out of which 6 of them expired over the past 3 years. Triple assessment was used to evaluate a case of breast lump. Ultrasonography of breast and mammography were used to assess the radiological evidence of breast cancer. All the subjects of study population underwent Fine needle aspiration cytology and Tru-cut biopsy from the lump in the breast. To assess the severity of breast.....

Abstract: Introduction: Ankle fracture is one of the most common injuries treated by orthopedic surgeons, accounting for 9% of all fractures and 36% of all lower extremity fractures. Percutaneous AP screw and buttress plating through the posterolateral approach are common methods for the fixation of posterior malleolus. This study aimed to compare the complications between Anterior to posterior (AP) lag screws versus posterior buttress plating for posterior malleolus fixation in tri-malleolar ankle fracture. Methods: This quasi-experimental study took place at the Department of Orthopedics & Traumatology, Chittagong Medical College Hospital, Chattogram, Bangladesh, during the period from November 2020 to October 2021. The study involved.....

Abstract: Background: In late 1920s Angle introduced his classification which was primarily focused on molar relationship. In that period the treatment of choice was generally non-extraction and expansion. In 1940s, Tweed emphasised more on extraction treatment plan and his concern was more on lower incisors position. Steiner's expressed the sagittal relation of the jaws by using ANB angle. According to him the position of upper and lower incisors changes as ANB angle changes. The thickness of the Alveolar bone and dental inclinations must be appropriate to ensure functional and aesthetic occlusion. The inclination of the teeth remains one of the six keys to Andrew's......
