Authors | : | Dr. Rupal J. Shah || Dr. Sanjay B. Lagdive || Dr. Prakash K. Barajod || Dr. Maulik N. Patel |
Abstract: Impression making is an essential step of complete denture construction. While many surveys have been done on this topic elsewhere, there are few such surveys in India and none in Gujarat. Aims: The purpose of this study was to survey dental practitioners across the state of Gujarat for complete denture impression materials and techniques. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire consisting of 20 questions regarding complete denture impression procedures was prepared for the purpose of an online survey which was randomly sent to 1504 dental practitioners through e-mail followed by a second reminder email to the non-respondents.

Abstract:Objective: Evaluationofeustachian tube function before and after tympanoplasty and to determine whether there is improvement in either the eustachian tube function or the hearing as a result of tympanoplasty.
Materials & methods:A prospective study of50 cases with chronic otitis media – mucosal disease were admitted to YENEPOYA HOSPITAL for surgery from October 2011 to October 2013 were included in the study. Preoperative PTA and eustachian tube function tests were taken. Patients were then subjected to ear surgery. Postoperatively 2 follow ups were done at 3 months and 6 months.

Title | : | Universal Prescription in Diabetes |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. M. Ramakrishnan |
Abstract: This paper titled universal prescription in diabetes propose a tool for inspired medical person and patients to improve treatment planning and outcomes .It is useful in all type of diabetes and at all ages. The prescription remain the same right from primary care to tertiary care, and diabetes with or with out co-morbidities. Appropriate examples are cited .The paper is based on patient and laboratory data that was naturally available to me while resorting to treatment modalities aimed at overcoming therapeutic inertia. The prescription has a nominator comprised of disease factors and a denominator which constitute the prescription of medicines. The prescription will have to be revised as and when needed. The nominator part if properly prepared and maintained will predict about course of ones diabetes and co-morbidities.

Abstract: Introduction: Mothers are at risk during pregnancy and childbirth. Antenatal period is crucial due to the fact that most of the complications during pregnancy andchildbirth can be prevented or detected at the earliest through regular antenatal check-up and maternal mortality could be reduced.1The current emphasis of care by National Health System is not only provision of care but Coverage and Quality of Care so that it becomes available and acceptable to the target client resulting in reduction of health problem.

Abstract: Introduction: Nutritional deficiencies and periodontal diseases are quiet common due to negligence, improper diet and oral health care particularly in Indian women. These deficiencies and improper oral hygiene give rise to various effects like osteoporosis, anemia, loosening of teeth, bleeding of gums…which debilitate these women. Aim: To determine the alveolar bone level and its density in postmenopausal women with the help of radiovisiography (RVG).

Title | : | A Randomised Controlled Comparative Study of Oral Clonidine with Oral Diazepam as Premedication in Patients for General Anaesthesia |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr.Dilip Kumar || Dr.Surekha Patil |
Abstract: Introduction: Alpha-2 adrenoceptor agonists have been used as premedicants because of their beneficial properties in anaesthesia. Clonidine is now commonly used for its antihypertensive and negative chronotropic effects but has many properties of an ideal premedicant and also beneficial effects on haemodynamics during stressful conditions like laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation. During general anaesthesia Clonidine reportedly enhances intraoperative circulatory stability by reducing catecholamine levels. Materials and Methods: This randomized controlled trial study was conducted in tertiary care teaching Hospital, D.Y Patil Medical College and Hospital, Navi Mumbai After written informed consent from all the patients, 100 patients belonging to "American Society of Anesthesiologists" (ASA) GRADE I and II, Physical status aged between 18 to 56 years, scheduled for elective........
