Abstract: Based on the revised ATLANTA classification of 2012, the diagnosis of acute pancreatitis requires two of the following three features
• Abdominal pain consistent with acute pancreatitis i.e acute onset of a persistent, severe, epigastric pain often radiating to the back;
• Serum lipase or serum amylase activity atleast three times greater than the upper limit of normal and
• Characteristic findings of acute pancreatitis on CECT.
Acute pancreatitis is calculated from the time of onset of abdominal pain (not the time of admission to the hospital). Pancreatitis is..........

Abstract: Background:Worldwide, gastric cancer is the fourth most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death. There is a marked difference in the north and south side of India. Stomach cancer admission in South India is 4 times as frequent as North India, with a remarkable preponderance of males (20:1) versus (7:1) in rest of India. An exception to relative low incidence of gastric cancer in North India is Kashmir where the incidence is 3 to 6 times higher than in the rest of India. Methodology:A prospective study of 72 cases of carcinoma of stomach admitted in surgical wards of Government General Hospital, Kakinada.....

Abstract: Maxillary anterior spacing is a common aesthetic complaint of patients. Midline diastema has a multifactorial etiology such as labial frenulum, microdontia, mesiodens, peg-shaped lateral incisors, agenesis, cysts, habits such as finger sucking, tongue thrusting, or lip sucking, dental malformations, genetics, proclinations, dental-skeletal discrepancies, and imperfect coalescence of interdental septum. Appropriate technique and material for effective treatment are based on time, physical, psychological, and economical limitations. Direct composite resins in diastema cases allow dentist and patient complete control of these limitations and formation of natural smile. This case report describes direct aesthetic midline diastema closure with direct composite technique......

Abstract: This study was conducted to determine whether post-operative immuno nutrition in patients undergoing elective / emergency gastrointestinal anastomosis (malignant or benign disease) could improve clinical outcome. In the present study, I have done a randomized , prospective comparative study of "EFFECT OF EARLY IMMUNONUTRIENT SUPPLEMENTATION AFTER ENTERIC ANASTOMOSIS IN THE PREVENTION OF POST OPERATIVE COMPLICATIONS AS COMPARED TO CONVENTIONAL APPROACH" . In the Department of General Surgery , R G Kar Medical College and Hospital , Kolkata from January 2014 to June 2016 . The rates of infectious complications have decreased especially wound infections, anastomotic leaks decreased,rates of abdominal abscess decreased & the mean length of stay in hospital decreased by 2 days approximately. Though this study does not show any significant difference in the mortality between these two groups still it have proved that supplementing early diet in post operated gastrointestinal surgery patients with immunonutrients.

Abstract: Functional orthopedic treatment seeks to correct malocclusions and harmonize the shape of the dental arch and oro-facial functions. Conventional orthodontic appliances use mechanical force to alter the position of teeth into a more favorable position. However, the scope of these fixed appliances is greatly limited by certain morphological conditions which are caused due to aberrations in the developmental process or the neuromuscular capsule surrounding the orofacial skeleton. To overcome this limitation, functional appliances came into existence. Functional appliances do not replace fixed attachments. Indeed combined use of brackets, bands and extraoral force has.........

Abstract: VerrucaVulgaris (viral warts) is a fairly common condition with manytherapeutic options having variable success rates. Few warts are refractory to treatment with often disappointing response and high recurrence. Intralesional immunotherapy has gained importance due to its effectiveness in clearing both treated and distant warts by stimulating the cell-mediated immunity against human papillomavirus. Aims and objectives:This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of intralesional Vitamin D3 injections in the treatment of multiple cutaneous warts. Materials and Methods:Patients with multiple cutaneous warts were selected and Vitamin D3 (0.2-0.4 ml, 15 mg/ml) was injected at the base of warts. The injections........
