Abstract: Introduction: Acute appendicitis is a common serious surgical emergency. Due to the rapid progression of the disease, surgery is frequently the most prudent method of treatment. However, any procedure has some level of risk. If the disease's diagnosis can be improved before surgery, the risk of negative appendectomy can be considerably lowered. In addition, societal or demographic factors may influence the incidence rate of acute appendicitis. Aim of the study: The aim of the study was to observe any possible association of social characteristics and laparoscopic findings among patients diagnosed with acute appendicitis. Methods: This prospective......

Abstract: BACKGROUND:COPD phenotypes are useful to predict the response to a treatment and progression of the disease. This personalized approach allows identification of the right treatment for each COPD patient, it leads to improvement in the effectiveness of therapies, avoidance of treatments not indicated, and reduction in the onset of adverse effects. MATERIALS AND METHODS :It is a prospective study Done among 100 patients who visited Department of Respiratory medicine in Narayana medical college and hospital over 1 Yr. (JULY 2021-JULY 2022) Diagnosis of COPD is done according to GOLD......

Abstract: Background: In pregnancy there is heightened oxidative and inflammatory stress. The stress level is higher in case of Gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM). Pentraxin-3 (PTX3) is an acute phase protein that belongs to the Pentraxin super family. Our aim is to study the serum levels of Pentraxin-3 in pregnant women without any comorbidities and in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus(GDM). Material and methods: Our study was case control study conducted among pregnant women of gestational age between 24 to 28 weeks attending the department of Obstetrics and gynaecology, Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital, Chidambaram.....

Abstract: BACKGROUND : Several studies have investigated how social media affects student academic performance. While there were some studies which showed positive impact on students academics, others reported that there were either negative or no effects on their academic performance. Thus, the current study is done to know the relationship between social-media usage and its influence on academic performance among Engineering students. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This is a cross sectional study done among 214 Engineering students of Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology and Sciences(ANITS) , Visakhapatnam. Data is collected through online Google forms. The Assessment tools used are : Social media engagement questionnaire, Social media addiction scale and Academic performance self -assessment questionnaire......

Abstract: Introduction : With a mortality incidence of 52.9–81.3%, acute mesenteric ischemia is a fatal post-cardiac surgical complication. The predictors of clinical prognosis following treatment for acute mesenteric ischemia following cardiac surgery have, however, only been examined in a small number of trials. In order to better understand prognostic factors in patients who underwent celiotomy for acute mesenteric ischemia following cardiac surgery, this study examined these patients. Methods : We looked back at 30 patients who received laparotomies for acute mesenteric ischemia following cardiovascular surgery between January 2019 and August 2020 (20 men and 10 women; median age, 71.0 years). These patients were divided into two.....

Abstract: Background:Variation in dimension of upper airway is related to changes in craniofacial growth. The objective of this study is to compare the length and Antero posterior width of upper pharyngeal airway in samples of skeletal class I and class II caseshaving differentsaggital growth patterns. Materials and method:300 lateral cephalograms were selected and subdivided into six subgroups on the basis of Angle's and Steinern'sangle, then traced and six different linear measurements were tabulated. The normality of data was analysed by the Shapiro-Wilk test. ANOVA test was used to check differences in mean value between groups and pairwise comparison was done using Tukey's HSD post hoc test. Result -Class II and classI hyperdivergent......
