Abstract: Objective To study the variation of salivary PH in patients undergoing antineoplastic treatment. Methods This is a cross-sectional study conducted during the period from January to March 2020 in the medical oncology department of the Blida cancer centre. We included patients treated with antineoplastic therapy (chemotherapy; targeted therapy; hormone therapy). Patients undergoing radiotherapy in the ENT sphere, patients with asialia, and those who refused to participate in our study were excluded. Salivary PH was measured with an electronic PH meter from unstimulated saliva of patients undergoing antineoplastic drugs. Clinical data were collected from the interview, oral clinical examination and the patient's medical record. These data were then transcribed on a prepared form. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 20 software.......

Abstract: Background: Thrombocytopenia is common in patients with chronic liver disease. Its pathogenesis is multifactorial. The aim of our study is to assess the frequency of thrombocytopenia in cirrhotic patients, as well as to evaluate the prognostic value of thrombocytopenia and its correlation with survival, and the occurrence of cirrhosis-related complications.
Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective analytical study, conducted over a two-year period from January 2020 to December 2022. We included any cirrhosis selected based on a range of clinical, biological, radiological and endoscopic arguments. Thrombocytopenia was defined as a platelet count < 150,000/L. Data were collected on a survey form and analyzed using SPSS software. We used the Chi-square test to analyze our results. The significance threshold was set at a p-value of less than 0.05..........

Abstract: Phyllodes tumors, which make up 0.3–1% of all malignancies, are a rare type of fibroepithelial neoplasm that affect the breast. Twelve percent of all Phyllodes tumors fall into the borderline category. Giant borderline phyllode tumor have not been re-ported in many case reports. Here, we present a case of gigantic borderline phyllode tumor, approached with extensive local excision and negative margins were successfully accomplished. The aim of this study is to describe the clinical history, presentation, intraoperative and histological findings of the patient, along with a review of the literature to assess the importance of these results and the therapy strategy.

Abstract: Coccydynia is a pain around the coccyx exacerbated on sitting. Massobrio and Postacchini suggested the morphology of the coccyx as a causative role for coccydynia. Massobrio and Nathan proposed the etiology of coccydynia based on the classification of coccyx morphology based on the Sacrococcygeal angle. Though CT and MRI fail to determine the causation of idiopathic coccydynia being static, dynamic X-rays in standing and sitting positions . Immobility or hypermobility are marked cases for being so. In this study we hypothesize the proprioceptive changes that might occur on dynamization of the sacro and Intercoccygeal angles in 99 subjects between 20-60 years both male and female with idiopathic coccydynia.......

Abstract: Introduction: To compare the effects of Mirabegron versus Tamsulosin on improving symptoms and QoL in patients with indwelling ureteral stents using the validated version of USSQ questionnaire. Materials and methods: This study was conducted on 200 patients (men and women) who underwent DJ stenting after uneventful endourological surgeries. Total of 150 patients reported DJ SRS, they were randomized into 3 groups (A, B, and C) in a ratio of 1: 1: 1. Group A were put on placebo, Group B on Tab Mirabegron 50mg OD, and Group C on Tab Tamsulosin 0.4mg OD. They were given the USSQ questionnaire and asked to complete it on the first week to see the magnitude of DJ SRS and third week before the DJ stent was removed.........

Abstract: Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has brought several uncertainties and insecurities about sources of information. In this way, the need to have a way of disseminating knowledge that was easy to understand and could be quickly disseminated became evident. Thus, there was the rise of infographics, which contain flashy images and simple texts, to meet this demand. Abstract: Background: Retention plays a vital role in maintainng the obtained results after orthodontic treatment. Despite the utilization of various retention methods, studies suggest that a significant portion of patients who have undergone orthodontic treatment show insufficient dental alignment few years later. The lack of scientific guidelines dictating retention, relapse, and retreatment procedures implies a reliance on clinicians' preferences in current practices. Thus, the purpose of this study was to identify the most common orthodontic retention, relapse and retreatment protocols.......

Abstract: Introduction: Understanding the morphometric properties of the lumbar spine is crucial for accurate clinical assessments and treatments. Previous studies have explored relationships between lumbar shape and sagittal parameters, contributing to our knowledge. However, a comprehensive analysis of various morphometric characteristics is assumed to be lacking. This study aims to address this gap, providing radiological anatomic features and morphometry of the lumbar spine, incorporating transverse and anteroposterior diameters of the spinal canal, vertebral body dimensions, vertebral and intervertebral disc heights, and the index of the intervertebral disc (Id)........

Abstract: Recent studies have shown that the fermentation period of cassava have significant effect on the nutrient content and anti-nutrient factors of the products. This research was carried out to evaluate and compare the nutrient and cyanide level of cassava products (fufu and garri) with different fermentation period. Cassava tubers were purchased at kpirikpiri market Abakiliki Ebonyi State. The change that took place during the fermentation of cassava mash and cassava tuber over a period of 72 hours to 120 hours at ambient temperature (28-32oc) were investigated. Changes in proximate Composition, micronutrients and hydrocyanic acid (HCN) Composition were determined using standard method. Statistical package for Social Science (SPSS) version 22.0 was for analyzing the data and analysis........

Abstract: Background: The Titanium Elastic Nail is generally used in children to repair diaphyseal and metaphyseal fractures. The age of the patient, as well as the nature and location of the fracture, determine if the TEN is required. The treatment of femoral diaphyseal fractures in children aged 5 to 16 years remains debatable. It is a successful and acceptable therapeutic option in eligible cases of femoral diaphyseal fractures. The TEN enables the use of elastically stable intramedullary nailing.
Aim of the study: The goal of this study is to show the efficiency of titanium elastic nailing system (TENS) intramedullary fixation of femoral shaft fractures.......
