Abstract: Background: Work physiology and ergonomics are applied in workplace to preserve the health efficiency, without putting burden on productivity by identifying and controlling workplace stressors. Manual labor is widely used in small-scale unorganized industrial workplace especially in developing countries like India. Hence the workforce employed in these sectors is exposed to daily physical stress. In occupational health practices, work physiological studies are employed for the assessment of energetic load and cardiovascular strain involved in a job. Studies have been conducted on many occupations like confectionery workers, inland fishing task and......

Abstract: Introduction: Tenosynovial Giant Cell tumors (TGCT) are common benign tumors, involving hands and feet. The most common site of origin is from the flexor-extensor tendon sheath lining. However, it has been reported to arise from extra-articular joint capsules or manifest as intra-articular pigmented villonodular synovitis. Here we report a case of Extraarticular TGCT arising from the index finger metacarpal phalangeal joint capsule, sparing the tendon sheath without bone or joint involvement. Case presentation..........

Abstract: Background: Research pertaining to the relationship between oral hygiene status of patients undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment and bond failure rate of orthodontic brackets is relatively scarce. The study aimed to probe into this relationship during the initial six months of treatment. Materials and Methods: 40 patients (20 males and 20 females) between the ages 12-30 years were evaluated for a period of 6 months from the date of bonding. A data collection sheet was maintained for each patient. The oral hygiene status was assessed by using the.......

Abstract: Background: Oral and maxillofacial surgery being a surgery of head and neck region draw the special attention. Postoperative fever (POF) is one of the consequential clinical concerns in maxillofacial surgery. Aims: The objective of this review is to focus on the various trends and implications of POF in OMFS, its treatment and management. Method: A comprehensive search of PubMed database, Dental and Oral Sciences Source, Web of Science etc., was done for last 24 years (2000-2023) using appropriate key words. Result: Fever due to OMFS can be of infectious or non-infectious in origin. Hyperpyrexia and hyperthermia are not synonyms. hyperpyrexia is mediated through hypothalamic 'set-point' and exclusively based on the pyrogenic cytokines. Whereas......

Abstract: Background: The assessment of parameters of various segments of lateral ventricles plays a crucial role in diagnosing age- related degenerative diseases of the Central nervous system, along with the psychiatric disorders. The aim of this study was to gather comprehensive data on the normal morphological parameters of the human brain's lateral ventricles and their associations with age and sex. This effort seeks to establish a robust foundation for diagnosing pathological changes and enhancing diagnostic accuracy. Materials and Methods: This is a cross- sectional study including 500 subjects, spanning ages 7 to 85 representing both genders....

Abstract: Summary : Shoulder dislocation in its erecta form is a rare variety. We report 03 observations of shoulder dislocation type erecta collected between 2019 and 2022. Three men were involved, with an average age of 40 years. The pathognomonic attitude was found in all three cases, with the upper limb in irreducible hyperabduction with the arm in the air. In one case, axillary nerve damage was found, with an associated fracture of the greater tuberosity. A frontal x-ray of the shoulder showed inferior dislocation of the humeral head. Inferior shoulder dislocation of the erecta type is rare, its.....

Abstract: Aim: to evaluate and compare the results of management of acute oroantral communication (oac) with buccal advancement flap (baf) and with platelet-rich fibrin (prf) membrane. In all patients postoperative pain, swelling, number of analgesics taken, loss of depth of vestibule and presence/absence of nasal regurgitation were evaluated. Materials and methods: a total of 523 patients requiring extractions of non-salvageable maxillary posterior teeth and radiographically having close proximity to the maxillary sinus were included. Out of that, 10 patients developed acute......

Abstract: Dextrocardia with situs inversus [1], a rare congenital anomaly, presents unique diagnostic and management challenges. Here, we present an in-depth case study of a 4-month-old infant with dextrocardia diagnosed after presenting with persistent cough and cold symptoms in the outpatient department of Fayth Clinic Medical Institute. The case underscores the importance of recognizing rare congenital anomalies in pediatric patients and highlights the need for tailored management approaches

Abstract: Introduction: Inguinal hernia, a prevalent condition marked by abdominal contents protruding through the inguinal canal, primarily affects males and older adults due to weakened abdominal muscles. Risk factors include heavy lifting, chronic coughing, and obesity. Surgical advancements have significantly improved treatment, with the Desarda technique emerging as a notable innovation that uses the patient's tissue instead of synthetic mesh, potentially reducing complications and costs. Methods: This study evaluated the Desarda technique for inguinal hernia repair in males over 18 years with primary unilateral.....

Abstract: Incidental thyroid nodules are a common imaging finding. Most incidentalomas are benign. It is appropriate to classify the nodules as per ACR TIRADS, which is a 5-point stratification system to predict the risk of cancer in thyroid nodules. Only few studies have documented the prevalence of thyroid incidentalomas in southern Indian states. The primary objective of the study is determining the prevalence of incidental thyroid nodules. Out of the total 123 subjects included in this study, sonographic abnormalities were appreciated in 22 subjects. 14 out of these 22 subjects.....

Abstract: Stunting is a form of chronic malnutrition that occurs during growth and development. This is characterized by children who are too short for their age. Stunting is still a problem in Indonesia. According to SSGI 2022, the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is 21.6%. In Lampung Province itself, the prevalence value is 15.2%, with the area with the largest prevalence being Pesawaran Regency with a value of 25.1%. Stunting can be caused by several factors, including poor family and child characteristics, as well as lack of nutritional intake. One of the factors that can directly.......
