Abstract: The health of teeth and supporting structures is object central to the modern day periodontics. To replace the diseased alveolar bone, a variety of bone replacement materials are used. These can be further categorized into : bone graft substitutes and non bone graft substitutes. We in this particular review will focus on bone graft substitutes, their types, evolution, processing and biological response towards them.

Abstract: The diagnosis of rheumatologic problem can be difficult, especially if not all the diagnostic criteria or typical clinical features are seen. This includes conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis which needs early diagnosis to start disease modifying drugs (DMARDs) which can improve the prognosis and prevent further joint erosion and organ damage. This case report focused on a similar scenario in an elderly woman initially thought to have osteoarthritis but was diagnosed later with rheumatoid arthritis which brought much relief to her current predicament...........

Abstract: Background: Splenectomy is done for various hematological disorders in which, the spleen exerts a destructive effect on blood cells, leading to anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia or a combination of all these. Though previous studies reported details on the pattern of outcomes of splenectomy, the literature is still less. In this research, we report our experience with splenectomy for hematological disorders intending to determine the indications, complications and outcome of splenectomy. Objective: This study was done to know the indications and outcomes of splenectomy done at a tertiary care centre........

Abstract: This case study explores the trajectory of a 56-year-old female diagnosed with metastatic malignant phyllodes tumour following breast-conserving surgery (bcs) in a non-oncological setup in 2021. Lacking adjuvant treatment and information on the necessity of oncologist consultation, the patient defaulted follow-up. Subsequently, metastases in the lung, paravertebral region, spine, and subcutaneous tissues developed. The case underscores the critical importance of informed decision-making post-bcs to prevent metastatic progression. The patient received palliative radiotherapy to the right paravertebral mass and c-spine compression, resulting in symptomatic relief. Palliative chemotherapy, specifically six cycles of adriamycin based, was initiated alongside symptomatic treatment. This comprehensive approach led to improved power in both upper limbs, pain relief, and a decrease in the size of subcutaneous nodules. The patient, now two months post-treatment, continues to do well upon follow-up.

Abstract: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine-gynecology disorder affecting many women of childbearing age. Although a part of the involved mechanism in PCOS occurrence is discovered, the exact etiology and pathophysiology are not comprehensively understood yet. Androgen excess (male hormone excess), seen in 60-80% of girls and women with PCOS, is a key problem in the disorder and likely comes from ovaries in most women. The evidence suggests the several different external and internal factors which includes hyperandrogenism, insulin resistance, genetic, epigenetics and environmental factors. PCOS increases the risk of further complications like anxiety, depression, metabolic syndrome........

Abstract: Background: Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) traces its roots first time in 19th century, with fundamental advancements including thoracoscopy in 1912. Laparoscopic techniques were greatest innovation of mid-20th century. Revolutions like laparoscopic appendectomy and cholecystectomy in the 1980s marked the start of MIS's transformative era and was major breakthrough of medical science in reshaping surgical paradigms. Robotic surgery, advanced 3D imaging and AI use has become latest innovation in MIS procedure. Materials and Methods: We followed a systematic search strategy utilizing databases like PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. Some data was searched manually from chrome. Primary keyword combinations such as "minimally invasive surgery" and "recent advancements" were used along with secondary keywords to gather relevant literature..........

Abstract: Introduction: Mucinous neoplasms of the appendix are rare and present symptoms similar to acute appendicitis, which makes diagnosis difficult. The accumulation of mucin inside the organ can lead to its perforation resulting in peritoneal pseudomyxoma (PMP), a condition that is to be treated.
Case report: A 36-year-old man with no previous medical history suddenly experienced mild abdominal pain that spread throughout his abdomen. A full abdominal ultrasound (USG) was carried out, revealing an enlarged appendix with the walls also showing signs of calcification. Laboratory tests showed alterations and a computed tomography (CT) scan.........

Abstract: A 74-year-old female presented to our ophthalmology department with decreased visual acuity in her right eye persisting for several years. Upon ophthalmologic examination of the right eye, visual acuity was found to be reduced to the level of detecting hand motion. Slit lamp examination revealed a clear cornea, synchysis scintillans in the anterior chamber, and a hypermatured lens characteristic of a Morgagnian cataract, with total liquefaction of the cortex (Figures 1 and 2), causing the nucleus......

Abstract: Backgroun d Tibial shaft fractures are common, with proximal third fractures comprising a smaller but significant subset. The rise in high velocity road traffic injuries has contributed to an increase in these fractures, predominantly affecting economically active adult males. These fractures often present with severe soft tissue injuries and bone comminution, posing challenges for treatment. Intrame dullary nailing has been a successful method for tibial shaft fractures, but applying this technique to proximal third fractures presents difficulties due to deforming forces. The standard approach for intramedullary nailing in the tibia is......
