Abstract: Background: Lithium disilicate ceramics gained wide popularity due to their superior esthetics and good mechanical properties but the cementation process using resin cements is associated with technique sensitivity.
Many trials using glass ionomer as cement took place but no sufficient evidence is available on color reproduction.
Materials and Methods: In this In-vitro study 32 samples will be divided into two groups according to margin thickness. Group I margin......

Abstract: Background High blood pressure has been associated with abnormal blood lipid levels (dyslipidaemia), nevertheless many hypertensive individuals in Nigeria tend to overlook their blood lipid levels, primarily due to a lack of understanding regarding the relationship between hypertension and dyslipidaemia. This study aims to assess the pattern of dyslipidaemia in normotensive, pre-hypertensive and hypertensive populations in a private cardiac centre in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Methods The study was......

Abstract: Aim: The aim of this study was to measure the solubility and pH value of a comparably new tricalcium silicate–containing sealer (Endosequence BC ealer ) and a MTA containing sealer (MTA Fillapex; Angelus, Londrina, Brazil) in comparison with a conventional epoxy resin–based root canal sealer (AH Plus;Dentsply DeTrey, Konstanz, Germany) , calcium -hidroksid based (Sealepex ) zinkoksid -eugenol based (Tubliseal ) during 24 ours in aqua ridestilata...

Abstract: Introduction In nearly all regions of the world, Heart Failure (HF) is both common and increasing. In Africa, HF is a frequent and severe condition, yet few data are available that takes into account modern advances. HF affects over 64.3 million people worldwide. Loop diuretics, such as furosemide and torsemide are recommended for relieving symptoms and signs of congestion in patients with chronic heart failure and are administered to more than 80% of them. However, several of their effects have not systematically been studied.(15) Although furosemide is the most commonly used loop diuretic in patients with heart failure, some studies suggest a potential benefit for torsemide. The main objective of this study is to determine the opinion, attitude and experience of Nigerian physicians regarding the use of torsemide or furosemide in management of heart failure cases........

Abstract: Background- Pleural effusion, mostly caused by volume overload, congestive heart failure, and pleuropulmonary infection, is a common condition in hospitalized patients. Thoracic ultrasound (TUS) helps clinicians not only to visualize pleural effusion but also to distinguish between the different types. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of USG and CT imaging findings in conjunction with diagnostic thoracocentesis to distinguish between transudative and exudative pleural effusions. As there is paucity of literature regarding the use of USG, CT attenuations values and associated findings as an aid in characterizing pleural effusion in Indian subcontinent....

Abstract: Musculoskeletal disorders (msds) have a significant impact on the workplace and are becoming an increasingly prevalent issue in today's cultures. According to research, msds are the second most common cause of temporary work impairment, behind the common cold. Many working populations experience morbidity as a result of work-related musculoskeletal diseases (wmsds), which are recognized as a significant occupational issue that lowers quality of life, reduces productivity, and raises health care and compensation expenses.[1] The term "work-related musculoskeletal illnesses" refers to conditions that affect ligaments, spinal discs, muscles, cartilage, nerves, joints, and tendons and result in chronic, progressive development.they are also referred to as cumulative traumatic......

Abstract: Background and objectives: the maxillary sinuses and osteo-meatal complex are of particular importance to dentist because of their close proximity to the teeth and their associated structures, so increased risk of maxillary sinusitis has been reported with periapical abscess, periodontal diseases, dental trauma, tooth extraction and implant placement. Cone beam computed tomography (cbct) is a radiographic imaging method that allows accurate, three-dimensional(3d) imaging of hard tissue structures. Is the most significant among medical diagnostic imaging....

Abstract: Summary Volvulus is a condition characterized by the twisting of the intestine upon itself at a fixed point or area. The most common cause is peritoneal adhesions or a meckel's diverticulum. Here, we report the case of a child admitted with signs of intestinal obstruction, in whom surgical exploration revealed primary small bowel volvulus without intestinal malrotation.

Abstract: Background: Ionizing radiation is used in diagnostic imaging as a part of patient workup in various medical specialties. However, it constantly imposes radiation exposure risk to both patients and healthcare professionals. Therefore, this study focused at evaluating the level of knowledge of patients toward radiation exposure hazards and radiation dose. Methodology: The study was a cross-sectional study with non-probability sampling. An offline, self-developed questionnaire was...
